Francois le Vasseur was not the struggling, pirate-ridden merchant his wife Delphine thought him. Through Captain MacDermott she finds out the attack on Francois' merchant ship the Mariette was a plot to get rid of her, and Delphine is not so anxious to see him get away with the crimes against her anymore. She wants her vengeance, and gets it in part by shooting the pirate captain who raped her at her husband's whim...
Captain Quinn MacDermott came to Delphine's rescue, and he knows everything she tells him will help him to capture and hang her husband, Francois. Quinn can't find it in his heart to care that she killed the pirate named Jack Lott who had repeatedly raped her. Delphine's husband doesn't care what Lott and his pirates did with her, as long as he got rid of her permanently. This knowledge Quinn has heard through the pirate grapevine, and he would be in the position to know, for Quinn MacDermott was a pirate hunter out to get the suspected pirate named Francois le Vasseur. Now the ultimate prize has fallen into his hands, the target of the murder, Delphine le Vasseur. She is very willing to give Quinn her help when she understands she is no longer in danger of being returned to her husband, and he is surprised by the information she willingly gives when another of Francois' ships sails into their sights...
Jennifer Mueller is a mistress of the short story. Till Death Do Us Part, in spite of the length, is a very quick read, a very satisfying read, and it is totally delightful in its breadth and scope. Jennifer has packed a lot of excitement behind each corner, as Quinn and Delphine track down her very greedy and murderous husband in an attempt to bring him to justice. That they become tangled in and sidetracked by love in the process only adds spice to the adventure, so sit back and enjoy Till Death Do Us Part.
