Sometimes it would be nice to just be normal, but for Vic Braunson, that is not an option. Once upon a time, he was alone, lonely, sad, but making it through every day as it came. That is not true anymore. He now has someone he loves more than life itself, and it is through Matt he became what he is today. He can't find it within to ever blame Matt for the problems he encounters, but things just seem to happen around Vic. Like coming home from taking another driver's route, and, well, there is no easy way for him to describe the horror. He wanted to go home, to see Matty, to just be his frined and lover, but no, some woman had to try to cut through traffic and ended up squashed against the median barrier. Not only that, but she almost caused Vic to slam into her as well...
Matt DeLorenzo hates what happens to Vic when they make love, but it is something Vic has come to accept. There are times, however, when Matt curses whatever it is within him that causes Vic to "hero up" and be stronger, faster, and then get additional powers depending on the position in which they make love. Sometimes matt feels jealous, and it is a feeling he can't seem to control. He has no real powers on his own, except for the ability to hear Vic's thoughts, and rummage around in his mind for his wants and desires, but other than that...nothing. Tonight when Vic came home, he was closed off, a sure sign something happened. When Vic blocks Matt out, he only makes it worse, but until the news, Matt didn't know what happened, and when he finds out, it makes his blood run cold again. If there is one thing for certain, it is Matt's fear for Vic's safety.
Once again J. M. Snyder lets us into the lives of Vic and Matt. Never have two men been through more together, yet never lost the love they share. Vic is devoted to making Matty happy, it is really what he lives for, and it is the best way he can show Matt he loves him. Matt worries about Vic, about the powers he has, and about the problems they have had over them in the past. He hates it, but is thankful Vic takes it all in stride, does what he has to, and still loves him, weirdness and all. An Evening With The Rush Hour Hero is the latest in the saga of Vick and Matt, and if you are a follower of these two daunting characters, then you will not want to miss this. If you have never read any of Vic and Matt's adventures, this is a great introduction to the pair.
