It was Halloween, the night of magic, witches, ghosts and the thinning of the veil between the living and the dead. For Graeme, it was a night he hoped Brandt would move on, would not forget the past, but relegate it to a place where memory was sweet, and time could heal the wounds of thier parting. The powers that be knew how hard it was, and maybe that is exactly why they had allowed Graeme to hang around, but for whatever reason, he was glad. It was their best friends, Jason and John, who had talked Brandt into attneding the Halloween Party, the first real place Brandt has agreed to go in publich in over a year. He wanted the best for Brandt, and he wasn't going to get it by him staying home. What Graeme wasn't prepared for was the real "magic" of Halloween, allowing him to communicate with Brandt, to say goodbye and to help him into the arms of a new love...

Brandt was torn about this "outing" with John and Jason, wondering if it was really "OK" and if he was really "OK" to be trying to move on. He wasn't sure he was ready to relegate Graeme to the past, to push forward with his life, but he had to do something, even if it was just going through the motions. Jason had gone to a lot of trouble, so had John, in helping him get past the sudden and shocking death of his best friend and lover, and yet Brandt was still uncertain. He only wished Graeme would give him a sign, and yet when he thought he could hear his voice, thought he felt his presence, he was afraid he was regressing. He really didn't want to be alone anymore, but the voice, it WAS Graeme's voice, it was! How did he manage it, and why was he pusing him towards the man Jason and John had picked for him? There were so many questions, if only he wasn't just hearing things, if only it was real...

Addison Albright has a talent for writing a sexy, sensual, and very touching story. In Moving On he gives his reader the tale of lovers separated by death, and a premature death at that. Graeme knows Brandt has to move on, Graeme needs him to as well, for they both need closure, a term that until now, he had always thought of as "psych-speak." He knew differenlty now he was on the other side of the equation, and realising Brandt has to move on if he was ever going to be happy again. What better place to say goodbye to the old life, and begin a new than at a Halloween Party. What neither were expecting was the last contact, and that leads to some very necessary contact. The story is ripe for Halloween reading, yet it has all the romance and gentle feeling which also signifies the High Holy Day of Samhain in the Druidic religion. Moving On is a must read for anyone who wants a story of tender passion, and of a love everlasting.
