It is her fault, and she will continue to blame herself and worse if something happens to Jesse because of her silly and vain stupidity and carelessness. Now Meg’s only hope is the sheriff arrives before Jacob kills her or her and Jesse if she should arrive with her monster husband still around. But that is a chance she took when she met Jesse, and when she sought refuge in her love and her protection. She has been down this road before, and if she has her way, she will never go down it again. She only has to survive till help arrives...
