Just when she reaches to allow her hand to feather a touch to him, the mystery man grabs her wrist.
As a Wildland Firefighter, Brant likes the peace of the Miller cabin. It was a place he came after he got out of the army trying to decide what course to take in his life. After two weeks of working back to back in the watch out tower, he had crashed out on the sofa. His partner, Jason, hadn’t mentioned anyone coming to stay in the cabin. Brant always had an open invitation when he needed to crash at the cabin and was too tired to drive home. He loves to take hikes around the area to clear his head. One thing he hasn’t ever forgotten was the loss of his father who died in a fire ring in the line of duty because some hiker decided it was cute to start a fire.
Brant was trying to get some much-needed rest when he noticed the lovely woman about to explore and take pure delight in his body. After Brant informs Deryn not to touch unless she plans to do much more, Deryn takes him upon his bet. What she finds is a fiery hot blaze that sets her flesh smoking. She is there to get some work done. She knew Jason from school, years back, but it was his sister Penny, who knew she was coming to the cabin to get some photos of the area. For some reason, no matter how hard Brant tries to understand Deryn, he can’t get a handle on the situation. As a Wildland Firefighter and, once, Army Ranger, it demanded controlling a situation, but when it came to a dynamite gal like Deryn, that was a different story. No matter what hot vibes he sends her way, love wasn’t in her vocabulary to a man who put out forest fires. Yet the closer they edge toward the other, and no matter how strong she tries to push him out of her head, the truth of the matter was that Deryn was falling head over heels for the wonderful man known as Brent Crichton. When a terrible lightning storm threatens them, Brent must face his fears if he wishes to have a life with Deryn, before the storm washes away all their memories.
Inside the Fire sets off explosive chemistry between Brant and Deryn. Both are solid characters that stand on their own. From the moment Deryn enters the cabin, sparks ignite. The dialogue sparkles with some enticing moments. I enjoyed how Deryn was able to unlock some painful moments in Brent’s life. Eve Savage fashions a story of two people searching for that one thing in life, they haven’t yet discovered until they meet and love slowly begins to blossom in the air. The sex is sizzling hot almost like a fire out of control. The scenery, of the area, and the rustic cabin, can almost been seen through the authors words. If you are looking for a scorching read, with refreshing characters and a secluded cabin, in the woods, where anything can happen, then, this is one read at Triskelion Publishing that will surely please.
