Tall, lanky, and dark-haired, Jim immediately caught Henry's eye. He just couldn't help but fall for the man he thought was courting his sister. The attraction was there, and even though he was on the fence about whether or not Jim was gay, and whether or not he would even like Henry, Henry was lost. It was an unusual first date, with Henry asking questions and Jim avoiding answers. The emphasis he kept putting on forgetting Betty and talking about Henry gave him second thoughts. He claimed to know all he wanted about Henry's sister, and wanted to know about him, which again set Henry in a tailspin. He is flustered, feeling awkward, and finally at the back of the movie theatre the possibility hits him...Betty set him up! When he got home, he found it was true.

From friends to lovers, the relationship between Henry and Jim blooms. Even though his sister marries someone else, it is always noted that Henry and Jim are together, best friends, roommates, and if there is any added dimension or chemistry between the men, it is noted but not commented on, especially in their presence. They bought a house together, finished school, and worked hard to make their lives as good as they could be, working hard toward their dreams, and becoming successful in their own way. It was not easy, however, and many times they found comfort in each other's arms, especially after a particularly grueling day, or an exceptionally tedious one. Money was often scarce, but between them, they were determined to keep the house and the life they had been sacrificing so much for, and doing it willingly.

Time can lead two directions, forward and back, but for Henry and Jim, it is an adventure. Henry and Jim is a short story and a poignant look back at the love between two men. Set up originally by Henry's sister, they remain friends and lovers till the end. It is a story of love, hope, trials, togetherness, and acceptance. Henry and Jim is a must read for all who enjoy a good, well written but short gay romance. The tale showcases J. M. Snyder's immense talent in the way the characters are defined, the story told, and the results will keep you on your toes. It is heartwarming, and it is definitely about true love, devotion, and a lifelong friendship that transcends a lot of the normal boundaries. Henry and Jim is a must read for those who appreciate caring and touching stories, and this one grabs at the heart of all of us who love romance. Ms Snyder's book is available now from eXcessica Publishing, and is a must buy for anyone who enjoys a good romance.

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
