There is a kinkyy little shop that Dawn Birmingham's friends heard about. With it being her birthday, and as they are bound to make her have some fun for once, Peggy and Samantha drag her blindfolded to the door of Don't Spank The Vamp. Dawn is a bit shocked and surprised by the place, she has never been in a shop that sells sex toys. She is not a virgin, but she has never tried toys of any kind, and is a bit naive about what they are, how they are used, and surprised at the sheer variety of things on display. There is a tingling in the air, and as the woman who owns the shop introduces herself, a fission slides down her spine, and she shivers. Aithne is a partner in the shop, and as Dawn observes her, she is almost rendered speechless. There is something about the young woman that eventually puts Dawn at ease, and she agrees to let Aithne give her a tarot reading. Although Peggy and Sam have a tendency to tease her unmercifully at times, they are her best friends, and they are thrilled at what Aithne tell her. For Dawn's part, she doesn't know if she believes or not, but as always, her artist's mind allows her to give others and their beliefs the benefit of the doubt. Good fortune, an upturn in her career, and continued good health are all good, but the romance? Finding her true soulmate when she hasn't had so much as a decent date in what seemed like forever was pushing it...wasn't it?
Aidan sensed a change in the air. There is something different about this day, and now these customers. He concentrated on hearing what was happening down stairs in the shop he owned with his sister, Aithne. There were new customers there, three of them. The young women were talking and giggling over the assortment of sex toys. He heard only two, when his senses told him there were three in the store. His sister was a conduit through which he kept tabs on the world, and though he could not be about in the daylight, he needed to know what was going on. Finally the last young woman speaks, then laughs and the sound shoots through Aidan like a spear. He has to get to her, he must meet her, and so he arranges it. Aithne is not only Aidan's sister, she is also his familiar, and through her and with her help, he has survived for a hundred years. When the young woman laughs, Aidan knows she is meant for him. He must meet her, he must have her, and from that moment on, he is totally focused in that direction. For Aithne's part, she is aware of what is happening to her brother. She saw it in Dawn's cards, knows they are about to be bound together for an eternity, and though she is saddened in a way, she has only happiness for her brother and his soon to be mate. To Aithne, the meeting of Dawn and Aidan cannot happen too soon, yet she will miss the closeness she shares with her beloved brother...
CJ England's sexy romp called Don't Spank The Vamp is a really fun read. It is wild, sexy, and the characters are unforgettable. From the moment Dawn sets foot in the shop, she is marked. With her two best friends pushing her into life, she has to go, but she isn't really happy about it until she meets Aidan. Things happen and as their relationship springs hot and heavy from the first, Dawn is overwhelmed. Generally confident in most things, talented as an artist, and loving her sculpture with a passion, when it comes to herself, there is a bit of a hole in the confidence. She can't quite see in herself what the others do. Aidan soon hones in on this weakness, and does what he can to shore it up. Through their play, he gently builds her self-esteem, meanwhile, he too is certain Dawn is truly his one and only soulmate. Now he must find a way to tell her his secret. Don't Spank The Vamp is a book filled with the adventurous experiences of a couple exploring their new-found love, but Aidan has a secret, and it coud make or break the relationship. Then there is the promise he made to Dawn, the reason behind the quirky little shop's name. Now, it is up to you. Do you dare go to Mardi Gras Publishing and pick up a copy of Don't Spank The Vamp?
