Small college towns are hard when it comes down to the variety offered to their gay community. The "rich kids" seem to be stuck up and snooty, and when an older crowd of men gets together and complains, one just knows what they are going on about for certain. One of these guys has found a willing partner among the college set, however, and the news starts to spread. Danny is totally unaware of what he has let himself in for, and youth aside, he really needs someone to guide him, control him, and dominate him. Danny is a sweet find, and one man knows just what he needs, and when his attempts to show him the virtues of saying "no" fail, he takes matters into his own hands. He is more than willing to share, but at the same time, he feels something for the young man, and refuses to let him get into the position of being hurt. Pleasure/pain is one thing, but Danny is in a precarious position, one that cold be life threatening.
Knowing the danger to the oblivious and very hot Danny, the vile intention of some of the town's older gays toward the young college crowd makes a man mighty protective. When one steps up to the plate and takes the danger seriously, he sets out to try to protect the boy. He soon finds out the young man can't seem to say no, and such vulnerability can definitely be detrimental to Danny's health. When he lets himself into Danny's place and finds him in a bad position with Bernard, he realizes the danger is all too real, all too immediate. He discovers things may hinge on whether or not he decides to claim Danny, and in this way to keep the young man safe. He has never "owned" a bottom before, but just maybe, if he makes the right decisions, Danny will be his for a long time to come...
Gavin Atlas fills his stories with the rough and tumble life of yet another simply hot and sexy young bottom. Taking some things from his own misspent youth and experiences, Gavin has a rich well from which to draw his characters and plots. Claiming Danny can feel rather hard core at first glimpse, but again Gavin has written an exceptionally good story. Being young and relatively inexperienced can be a handicap for Danny, but he is afraid to say no to anyone, in spite of what he really needsl or what his body wants. He finds only being wanted for your body may not be all that it is cracked up to be, and can be dangerous as well. He is not sure about being owned, but has its rewards in other ways. I loved Danny, felt for him at the loss he suffered, and feared for him when things became desperate. I was not too thrilled with his circumstances, however, but bruethed a sigh of relief in the end. If you are into homoerotic adventures, then the short Claiming Danny by Gavin Atlas is a read you won't want to miss.
