Black’s Magic, published by Siren Publishing, clips along rapidly, giving forth an enthralling, sexy story. Once Rowena is captured, do the pages sear with lusty exploits. Damien Rochester relishes seeing his adversary naked and on her knees before him. He decides which warlock will house Rowena as their pleasure slave. Vayne’s request already known, but Galen Sinclair’s petition surprises him. Neither man will withdraw their request, so Rochester gives her to both men.
Ms. Rayne creates thrilling, earthy characters who breathe life into this pleasing story. Prideful and self-reliant Rowena submits to the distinctive whetted pleasures of both men. However, throughout the ordeal she retains dignity and self-worth, never fully submitting to either man. Galen Sinclair, a doctor in the Coven, gets her first. He is a rough lover although not forthcoming of himself. He ensures Rowena’s pleasure but its clear that she is nothing more then a sexual pet, there to fulfill his needs. Vayne appreciates her hot passionate nature, in the bed and out of it, traits that attracted him to her from the beginning. Certain never to “own” her, Vayne’s approach is more personal, insisting on constant eye contact and the use of his name throughout their rousing interlude. He masters her with tenderness and…love.
Giving this story a might more bite is Rowena’s mission, searching for information that will bring down the Coven. Snooping through Vayne and Sinclair’s homes yields trivial pieces of information, but when unexpected help comes from a surprising source does Rowena’s work make any head way. Black’s Magic amuses and captivates readers with a swift plot, handing over intense magical intrigue. Dominated with sexual tension, that concludes with steamy unions, makes for a highly gratifying read.
