Lady Strang. The realization echoes through Rose's head as she and Richard Kerre, The Viscount Strang, walk down the aisle of the cathedral in Exeter. The marks of her most recent ordeal are well concealed, the wedding went off with out a hitch, and her dreams have come true. As she was growing up, she would never have thought that she, plain Rose, could have caught such a prize as Richard. Few people know the truth. The match is not one of families and fortunes, but it is a true love match. Even her own sister, Martha still has concerns, even though she has seen the regard that Richard holds for her. There is still much speculation of the meaning of the match, but the fact that the family fortunes have been restored, really was of no importance in the pairing. A fortunate occurrence maybe, but not important as some would make it seem.

They could wonder all they want, because now she is Lady Strang, and finally the wife of her beloved Richard. They now have the rest of their lives together, and for that she is grateful. The only obstacles left for her are the introductions, and entrances into the ton, and the scariest of those is meeting and being introduced at court. Well, that was in the future, but for now they need to get through the bride trip. That is proving to be quite an ordeal. Danger is once again stalking them, and the incidents have followed them. Now they are in Venice, and the small but pretty apartment Richard keeps there. This is so ridiculous!! You would have thought that the danger would have been left behind, but who was the enemy that kept stalking them? What was happening?

Richard Kerre, Lord Strang, is a man about town. He has carefully cultivated a rake's reputation and an appearance that puts most people off guard. Even with his reputation, he has snagged a jewel of the first water, and it is even a love match. That has not mellowed him though, he is not a man to be taken lightly, nor is he one to anger or cross. He is a tall, good looking man with golden hair and a quick wit, as well as a rapier for a tongue that can carve the most unwary of victims to bits, and yet soothe the fears of his love and whisper silly endearments and heartfelt compliments. Lord Strang is not a man to fool with, and yet once again someone has tried. Richard is quite angered that someone would try this again, especially on his wedding day. He is uneasy, yet would go to great lengths not to upset Rose.

The funny thing about his Rose is that she is a lot stronger than she looks. They have been through much together in their relatively short acquaintance, but she is his now, as she was then, and he will do all within his power to make her happy. He is well aware that this is an unusual marriage for one such as he, and yet he’s content to put his trust in his feelings for her. They are returned in full, and with passion, and a man couldn’t ask for more than that. He often wondered how some could be married to the insipid creatures that fainted at the drop of a hat, and forever grateful that his Rose is not one of them. Now, if only he could find out who is stalking them, even on their bridal trip….He must protect Rose.

Once again, Lynne Connolly has held true to her course, and given us yet another adventure in romantic suspense. Once again, Ms Connolly has taken us along for the ride as Rose and Richard marry, and set out to begin their lives together. Venice is the third book, and loses nothing in the reuse of the characters. The story, the characters, and the excitement are kept fresh and enticing by the changes in scene and circumstance. From the first pot shot taken as they left their wedding breakfast, until they are secreted away in Richard’s apartment in Venice, The pair are faced with danger, and the fact that someone really wants them dead, or at least one of them. Now the trick is to find out the facts, and then stop the perpetrators.

Venice is another excursion in to history as seen from the romance author’s POV and the love, lies, scandals, and intrigue are all there, skillfully woven into the tapestry that comes from Lynne Connolly’s pen. Look for Venice, coming soon from NovelBooks, Inc. Another good read, another great tale, and an adventure that you won’t want to miss. Pick up a copy, and follow along as Rose recounts the latest of their adventures. And in case you missed them, look for Yorkshire and Devonshire as well…after all, they were the two that started it all!!!

Yours in good reading,

Rose!
