Annie Lynden is not sure about what she really saw. She was a witness to the strange disappearance of the handsome and debonair Dr. Kyle Pendrake, and she still wonders exactly what happened that fateful day. She was there, to do an article for her paper, because her boss’s wife was having a baby, and he passed the plum assignment on to her. That is how she happened to be in the conference room, at the briefing on magic for Pendrake Industries. She saw the eerie green light, then the flash when Dr. Pendrake’s machine malfunctioned, and he winked out of existence. It had happened five years ago. It seems as though it has been longer, but Annie is well aware of the time gone by, the emptiness that has dogged her ever since. Something was lost in her life that day, a special possibility arcing through space between two people. She knows a suave, and sophisticated man like Kyle Pendrake would never fall for her, but there was a crackle of attraction in the air. At the time, she was sure he felt it. She knows she did…then he disappeared.

It is a shame he had to go and vanish like that, too. That one instant where Annie’s eyes locked with his remained burned in her memory. Even though her imagined connection to Kyle seems to have faded, she knew that her fantasies of that moment would remain locked up forever in a small corner of her heart. However, Annie experienced one lasting effect from that meeting, the tragedy of Kyle’s disappearance really launched her career. A successful writer now, she finally got access to the Pendrake Institute to do some research for a novel, a historical, and Merlin can help. As she enters the room where the machine, Merlin, now resides, she settles down to take notes. With the coordinates programmed into Merlin’s interface, she needs only to sit back and watch the history unfold. It is there that she hopes to find the details to make her romance better, to bring more life to her characters. It is there she hopes to find some of the magic that Dr. Pendrake was talking about. What she doesn’t count on is the amorous couple in the darkened auditorium. The emotional and sexual energy they generate feeds the machine, and before she is aware of the situation, Annie Linden is no longer safe and sound in the twenty first century.

He is a darkly handsome man, tall, strong, and much sought after. He is revered for his wisdom, his ideas, and his dedication to the people who worship at the Temple of the Sun God. He is the incarnation of the god, his glittering emeralds eyes are observant of those people and things around him. His hard body, long chestnut hair, and lean strength draws the eye of the women who worship in the temple. He is every woman’s dream, yet he is often alone, shunning company unless it is within his duties. He is the High Priest of the Sun God, and as such, he is a very powerful man, one whom no one wishes to cross. That is the beauty of the position he holds in this sensual society. They come to seek his favor, unsure of the man, the power, and leave with a much different impression of High Priest Kyall. The other priests don’t quite know how to take him, his ways are sometimes strange to them, but unlike many of his predecessors, he actually seems to care for the people. He is also a man four thousand years out of his time, a man trapped in the past by the very magic that he discovered.

Now there is trouble in the land. The city of Kushuk, in the ancient land of Sumer has been experiencing an economic down turn. There is unrest, and the populace is clamoring for a solution, for a sacrifice to placate the gods. There is also a new priestess in the Temple of the Moon Goddess. They claim that she was found at the pinnacle of the Goddess’ temple, and would make an excellent sacrifice. There is one thing that Kyle is certain of, the new priestess will not be sacrificed at his hand if he can help it. He is not certain, but he thinks that this particular new High Priestess to the Moon Goddess is someone he has seen before, and not here in the ancient lands of the Sumerians either. He watched her as she recovered, and he is fairly sure that she was in attendance at the seminar. She was a witness the day he was transported back in time. He has heard she goes by the name of Annilin, but her name is of no importance. She is to be his, and this time, Kyle will not be cheated out of knowing her. He will not miss the chance to get to know the girl with the flaxen hair, and lavender eyes. In this sensual environment, he will claim her as his own, and from there…

Apart from fiendishly clever plots, and a delightfully devious mind. Sahara Kelly has more fun in her little finger, than many of us possess in a lifetime. Time and again she proves it in her writing, and The Sun God’s Woman is no exception. With her clever usage of the modern clichés, Sahara takes us through an erotic adventure as Annie and Kyle are forced back in time, then struggle to make their way through life in ancient Sumer. This erotic romp travels from the present to the past using a machine that can collect the natural magic around it. First, Kyle, then Annie is cast four thousand years back in time. The question becomes one of why Annie, and why this time? The answer is there in Kushuk with Dr. Kyle Pendrake, the inventor of Merlin, hunk extraordinaire, and the one man in any time who truly loves her.

The Sun God’s Woman is fun, sexy, erotic, and a thoroughly enjoyable read. With imagery that will keep you turning pages, Sahara will heat your blood, and make you wonder if such civilizations did exist. Her depictions of the life, the trials, and the people make you forget at times this is not a modern civilization. The sly quips, and the engaging banter hide a wealth of tension, both in the plot itself, and between the main characters. The Sun God’s Woman is not to be missed, and is available from Ellora’s Cave Publishing. If you like time travel, and you want a sexy and very engaging romp, The Sun God’s Woman is the book for you!

Yours in good reading,

Rose!
