Janet works in an auto repair body shop, and is fully aware of what it’s like to be a woman in a man's world, let alone in a job where she tends to meet slimy guys who take great pains to ask her out, and not all come across as genuine. The fact she works alongside ten other highly muscled men in the place might also have something to do with it. She is always around a load of testosterone, and would probably love to get work done without having to deal with randy, lecherous men on her case all day. She views most men who visit the shop as lecherous good for nothing types who seem to just want to paw her when she is actually trying to do her job. As is to be expected, she hates this part of her job, as it can go toward making her think that every man she comes across will be exactly the same as the last one who walked through the door.

Janet and her friend Laurie once had a relationship, and even then it was a pretty short lived affair, but she enjoyed it and it pretty much makes her have a different belief towards being gay or straight and views what people say about being gay straight or bi. She sees them as convenient stereotypes for falling in love as she sees it. When she meets Leon she gives him hell even if she is his client and she should act professional. She has pre conceived ideas of what men are like and sees all of them as the same, what she doesn’t expect is to encounter Leon who is unlike any man she has ever met before. Janet thinks that no one should be pigeon holed into any category of sexuality as no one at any given time really knows what they prefer until they have experienced it to the fullest.

Leon Sterling is a CEO at FDC and as far as most are concerned an interesting if special man who through his own perseverance has managed to rise to the peak of his career in management, has been noticed by his boss John Spencer and offered the position of CEO to him due to his amazing performance both in and out of the boardroom. He is a level-headed type, who has been known to be a go getter, and he is also a hunter, yet he also knows what John is like out of the boardroom, and sees him as difficult, argumentative if he doesn’t get his own way, and loose cannon once irked.

Leon is well known for his flashy look, expensive car and string of blondes who serve as his secretaries, but these were brought to him by John who seemed to have a thing for them being around him which Leon finds baffling. He is not like ordinary men; he has a deep need for finding a true soul mate, and sees Janet as being a good possibility if she would lower her defences around him. She talks to him as though she knows everything about him, and it is that which first intrigues him. He is honest with her about having another mate who lives with him, Sean Davis and that honesty doesn’t seem to unnerve her, it only draws her closer. In their past, Leon and Sean were known under other names on another world, and spent times together most would consider barbaric, yet to them as hunter and prey they were as normal as breathing to a human.

Laura Tolomei’s Tasting Leon’s Mark is a sensual study of what a man and woman want, and what a hunter is like when he searches for a good woman who can give him all he needs. I found this to be a very in depth and engrossing read, my interest being in the dialogue between Janet and Leon when they first met – I couldn’t get the smile off my face. Leon and Janet are two very alike people in that they both have pre conceived ideas of what men and women are like, and Leon has had too many passive women in the past to care about them right up until he meets Janet. His inner curiosity of finding a woman who speaks her mind rather than panders to his ego compliments his own high intelligence and causes him to want to get to know her more.

Tasting Leon’s Mark by Laura Tolomei is a novel of intrigue and perseverance in finding love and romance in a modern day setting. Laura Tolomei knows how to get into the reader’s psyche and bring out the inner needs of our readers to the forefront in this novel. For Janet and Leon, their only means for love lies in their threesome with Sean Davis, and their trust in each other – plus she has to get her original opinion of men out of her head and learn to get on with those of her opposite sex before anything good can come out of their relationship. I found it the perfect weekend read, as I was able to immerse myself in the world of two men and a woman who have such a burning desire raging within them. Tasting Leon’s Mark can be purchased from Whiskey Creek Press – and whatever you do, get a hold of one before they all go!

Yours in enchantingly good reading,
Sandra
