New York City, place of opportunity, and yet Tanner’s reason for being there wasn’t exactly ideal. There were things he had to do, people to find, and a mission to accomplish. There was a lot he didn’t understand about this particular quest, but he knows if it is not completed by the time he heads back to Texas, there is a lot to lose. Putting his heart on the line is what this amounts to, because to Tanner, the ranch is everything, and the provision in his old man’s will was not only disgusting him, it is downright cruel. Of course, maybe that is the final blow to Tanner, forcing him to do something reprehensible in order to attain and keep that which he loves most. What Tanner can’t condone is his father’s attitude, and demand which in Tanner’s mind is putting the family ranch at great risk. Of course Tanner McQuade was not exactly sure of the time frame he would need when he got here to the city, but with the ranch in the hands of a very capable foreman, he wasn’t so much worried about time as he was about fining the one woman in NYC that would speak his language.

Tanner is looking for his own kind of angel, one who is a woman of taste, not necessarily a highbrow society kind, but a woman who is down to earth, loves life, loves to explore, and in adventurous on her relationships. The last part to him is important, because he would really like to at least care about the woman he marries, and yet he yearns for a partner who is willing to travel his road with him, try the new, the forbidden, and the excitement he feels while engaging in their mutual gratification. What Tanner has found, is the girl of his dreams, and he is intent on winning her and not letting her father, or her would be husband take her away. What Tanner wants, Tanner usually gets, and it is not because it is given to him. Tanner knows how to work for what he wants, and now the fight is on for Angel’s heart and soul. He can’t afford to let her father or his hand picked prospective husband rope Angel into a situation where she will be miserable. She belongs to Tanner, he has staked his claim, and NO ONE will tell him differently now.

Angel Roselli is tired of the dragging hours, the work in which she is only a dutiful employee, and feeling of being chained to her father’s bakery. She has precious little time to call her own, and what she does have, her father is constantly trying to take away by foisting an unwanted suitor on her. Being in the bakery from before sun rise to well after sunset, and then going home and dropping into a deathlike sleep is not Angel’s idea of life. For that matter, Antonio is not her idea of love either, but her father can’t seem to understand that she is not interested in Antonio, and keeps pushing them together. For his part, Angel finds Antonio heavy handed, crude, rude, boorish, insensitive, and controlling in ways that she doesn’t particularly care for on e bit. On the other hand, the cowboy she bumped into, and yeah, had great sex with has possibilities, but Angel is not fooling herself. She has no intention of being any handsome, sexy drawling hunk of a cowboy’s fling in the big city.

Yes, Tanner told her he was in the city to find a bride, and in her mind, Angel figures that is one of the most inventive lines she has ever heard. The man is persistent and doesn’t know when to quit, however, and insists on showering her with her hearts desires. Tanner is relentless, romancing her in the most unusual ways, and really, if she didn’t know better, she would actually believe him. Hard in the face of these desires he stirs in her, Angel must face the threat of Antonio, as well as her father’s displeasure. She wants to be a dutiful daughter, but the grind of being in the bakery every day wears on her. Like her mother before her, she hates the place, and secretly harbors hopes to get away form the drag this life has been. As long as her father lives, she is afraid she will be tied to the place, and if she succumbs to his wishes and marries Antonio, she might as well sign her “dying of boredom and suffocation” death warrant her self. With Tanner, Angel finds herself able to indulge in some of her innermost fantasies. She has always dreamed of totally submitting to the right man, and Tanner has fueled her fantasies and made room for the very real possibilities he was “Mr. Right” in all ways…

Doreen Orsini has done it yet again. Her books are sexy, titillating, and with Tanner’s Angel, she has another winner. There is a longing in Angel Roselli she is more than willing to acknowledge to herself, but not to her father, or her erstwhile “fiancé.” When the handsome stranger enters her life, and announces he is hunting for a bride in New York of all places, Angel decides to take a chance. Even though she doesn’t believe Tanner’s line, she has to give the man credit for his patter. Tanner is not bluffing, and he is certain Angel is the woman for him. He has a dark side, and he finds that it matches pretty well with the hidden desires Angel has shown him. Now he needs to figure out how to convince her he is not just throwing her a line, but she proves to be a hard sell.

Danger stalks her in the guise of Antonio, a fiancé who was hand picked by her father, and now a partner in her father’s bakery. Angel is unaware of the problems, but Tanner’s instincts are well developed, and he has discovered a deep dislike and mistrust of the man. He feels the aura of danger around Angel, and until that danger is faced, met, and the problems hurdled, there is no future for them. Angel and Tanner must fight the forces that threaten to keep them apart, her stubborn and old-fashioned father, a malicious enemy, and Angel’s continued belief in Tanner’s insincerity. Tanner’s Angel is an erotic and delightful book, and is another rousing and arousing success. Doreen Orsini has a way of looking on the “dark side” and taking her readers along without disrespect, but guiding them along those more erotic paths with her characters. Tanner’s Angel is a must buy, and a definite keeper. I find Ms Orsini’s work fascinating and erotically entertaining, and recommend Tanner’s Angel to all those who want a very different sort of read. Get it now at Triskelion Publishing, sit back, relax, and above all….ENJOY!

Rose!
