Mariah lives a simple yet altogether satisfying life as wife to Frank Cassidy. After 17 years of marital bliss Mariah is still amazed at Franks invigorating passion for her. Raised in a home where sexuality was suppressed, Mariah finds herself insecure when it comes to having relations with her husband. Try as she might she finds it embarrassing to let her inhibitions go while making love. The one thing she fears above all else is the day that Frank leaves her and moves on to someone more sensual. Frank Loves Mariah more than anything and despite her misgivings is turned on by her more and more each day. The two raise their son and daughter within a warm, cheery and loving home. Spending a lot of quality time together has made the family bond that much more secure. Having loved Frank for all this time Mariah counts her blessings and lives each day to the fullest while basking in her husbands amorous affections.
It is while going on a family outing into town that Mariah's life is drastically altered. An unforeseen accident has hurtled her 130 years into the future. Suddenly Mariah finds herself in a world that completely astounds and frightens her. A place filled with weird objects and women who wear the most indecent of clothing. She doesn't recognize any of her surroundings or any of the people who appear to be caring for her. She is even more confused as to why everyone insists on calling her Mrs. Morgan. A man she has never seen before calls himself her husband David. She resists his embraces knowing in her heart that her one true love is somewhere else. Mariah doesn't understand what has happened or for that matter how it came to be. The one thing she is sure of is that her name isn't Taylor.
Taylor Morgan likes living in the fast lane. She plays hard and it pays off when she is successful. Taylor loves being a career woman and puts her job as her number one priority. Her husband David however wants nothing more than to be able to spend more time with Taylor. He also longs for the pitter patter of little feet but respects Taylor enough to wait until she is ready. Taylor and David constantly allow their professions to get in the way of their relationship. Knowing in her heart that David is right she begins to feel guilty yet too powerless to stop it. Not realizing that her self centeredness may cost her the man she loves, Taylor continues on and a rift forms in their relationship.
While haphazardly driving to work one morning Taylor’s life suddenly changes in the blink of an eye. When she finally awakens, besides a splitting headache she notices that her surroundings are different. The man standing at her bedside tells her that she was in an accident. He also informs her that he is her husband Frank. Not wanting to wait around in an apparent Twilight Zone like atmosphere Taylor insists on leaving immediately. Frank further confounds her by claiming she is his wife Mariah. Although she is instantly attracted to the handsome stranger Taylor knows that there is only one man out there for her. And David is nowhere to be found. Not wanting to betray her husband Taylor finds it hard as the days go by to keep resisting Franks advances. Will she be able to keep her memories of a former life alive? Or will she succumb to a passion that is wrong yet isn’t?
Ginger Simpson takes us to a place where the voices of two different women scream to be heard. Trapped in different times Mariah and Taylor struggle to adjust to all that they encounter. A family oriented wife and mother Mariah is amazed by all that she has come to know. She also finds herself intrigued by the man who thinks she is in fact Taylor. As Taylor tries valiantly to adapt to her situation, she finds herself longing for Franks burning caresses. Both women have to overcome their shortcomings in order for them to survive as the times dictates. But will they be able to do this? Wanting nothing more than to return to the ones they love Taylor and Mariah find themselves liking their new lives more and more each day.
Learning to accept changes and not be afraid of facing challenges is the lesson these two women are forced to learn. I laughed along with Taylor as she learns to put others before herself. I cried with Mariah each and every time her heart screamed out to Franks. Each woman knew that someone else was living their lives and how they dealt with this tugged very hard at my heartstrings. SISTERS IN TIME sparkles and shines as we watch the characters intermingle and bare their souls to each other. My only grievance with the book was that it ended too quickly for me. I loved the characters and would have enjoyed spending more time with them as they grew and learned from their experiences. I recommend reading this book if you're looking for a beautiful and romantic time travel romance. Written by Ginger Simpson and published by Wings ePress Inc in May of 2003 the book is available now. SISTERS IN TIME is guaranteed to withstand the test of time and it does so with a richness that cannot be duplicated.
Yours in good reading,
