She knew his anonymity was very crucial and she would protect him at any costs. Now years later, things have turned complicated when they come after her son, burning her house down with her inside. There is only one person she can turn to and that is Jason Velazquez, a feline shape-shifter who she is certain will reject her help and her son because he feels the child should have been his. In no time she learns that Jason is her forever-mate.
Jason Velazquez remembers Riana, and recalls the skinny kid he knew years ago. For a long time he had a crush on Riana, but then she left and he never saw her again. As benekedas, they were considered perfect mates and one thing that happens between benekedas, is generated heat. He knew how Riana had always wanted a relationship like his parents, always sharing their thoughts and feelings. When he sees her after all these years, she has really grown up well, and this time she needs a bodyguard. Jason is not too keen on taking Riana and Willis to his home even though he is considered one of the strong defenders.
Riana must find help for her son, who has been trapped inside the bobcat form still at an age of only five, even though twenty years have past. Willis is not even her son’s given name, but she had to change it from Alexei to Willis to keep him safe. She recalls her good friend, Jason, from her days in Malanaya that was once the Eskarian homeland in Basque. That had been years ago and she can only hope he can help her. Just looking at Willis, everything about him was pure bobcat but inside Riana saw him still as a little boy. Willis still fears for his life, and it shows in his eyes, but Riana lets him know her friends will help keep him safe.
Jason and Riana form an alliance but neither is really happy about the situation. He has heard of the Red Falcon but had no idea they were out to harm people in any way. The more time he spends with Riana his old feelings begin to resurface and their shared thoughts and feelings begin to abound. They both struggle for their feelings while trying to keep Willis from any harm as they unravel hidden secrets.
With Willis desiring to keep his mother in his path, and Jason’s urges desiring to claim her, the Red Falcon is not the only thing seeking to offer claims on her or her son.
Riana Unveiled is an involved fantasy that surrounds the hunt for a young child. It revolves around the supernatural and cast Riana as a strong heroine who will stop at nothing to protect her child. It also shows her vulnerable side when she is faced with her long time friend, Jason, who both have some heated chemistry once they get together after many years. The sexual tension steams the pages in a hazardous journey that keeps the pages turning. Not to mention the struggle between Jason and Willis, who both wish Riana for their own reasons.
Tyler Blackwood instills interesting characters, and a visualization of another time and place that keeps the reader entertained. I was deeply touched the way that Willis, even in the form of a bobcat, shows much concern for his mother and her safety. Ms. Blackwood creates some great paranormal rudiments into the storyline of Riana Unveiled from New Concepts Publishing, while allowing the reader to feel the sensations that the characters emit. She leaves the readers with characters that are hard to forget and a tale that gives much thought in this fascinating read.
