Yet, each time the responsibility falls to the youngest Kennedy sibling. Looking at the message scrawled on her bedroom wall, Brenna does not sense the man coming up behind her. Redemption: Terran Realm Book 1, published by Liquid Silver Books swiftly pulls the reader, delivering a fast paced, intriguing story. In 1863, a Warden foresees a perilous future as a supreme evil seeks to possess the Siohineth; a book containing the Terran history and all their magical power. Should the wrong people come into possession of this book civilization will end. Using the numerous natural disasters of 1989 as a backdrop, Ms. Ramsay beautifully supports the story’s suspenseful plot, showing how the Terrans have abandoned their duty. Once Donovan and Brenna reach San Francisco, home to the Keepers of the Environment (KOTE) does the suspenseful conflict increase. While checking Jenalee’s apartment, Donovan’s friend, Brenna picks up a heavy Destroyer essence, a man more powerful then her and Donovan combined. For the first time, since leaving Boston, she questions whether the book is truly safe. Handing the book over to a fellow Keeper who can decipher the Siohineth’s written language, she stresses to Donovan how the book’s surfacing escalates their danger. In another part of the city, a nameless Destroyer is furious that the Warden escapes with the book. This Destroyer vows that Brenna and Donovan will die, hopefully, before unlocking the Siohineth secrets.
No matter the level of danger, sexual tension permeates through the first part of this book that naturally leads into Donovan and Brenna’s randy but pleasing union. Controlling her desires, Brenna grew up despising the Terrans for their lack of action over the centuries. Still, the long cross-country drive nourishes her hunger. Unable to resist Brenna’s allure, Donovan takes his pleasures when and wherever he can. However, their loving making exposes a complication that Donovan never considers, that Brenna is more then just a lover – she’s his mate.
The intrigue continues as trusted friends turn into lethal foes, while Donovan and Brenna delve into KOTE’s involvement, mainly identifying the person inside KOTE with an insatiable need to posses the Siohineth. Ms. Ramsay opens the Terran Realm series beautifully with a thrilling story that will unquestionably captivate readers.
