Porn’s in hospital after a minor motorcycle accident; with time to kill, she and Chris sit and recount and regale each other with almost a dozen new stories about people they’ve known down the years; people of a certain persuasion, people who don’t quite fit into any particular sexual ‘compartment’—Ladyboys, Ladygirls, cross dressers, transvestites, bi-men, bi-girls and so on—just some of the eclectic inhabitants of ‘Transgenderland’—her ‘Stars’ as she so aptly calls them. With Porn’s long history of being involved with the TG world, she certainly has enough stories to fill several books and her stories contain more than few surprises; needless to say, Chris finds himself surprised, maybe at times astonished, at the depth of Porn’s knowledge about her ‘Stars’ ‘sexploits’ and ‘sexperiences’.

Sometimes things aren't exactly what they seem to be, and that is what brought Chris and Porn together. The differences in the belief systems in Asia allow for a very different moral structure, and often it leads to some very interesting developments in relationships. Chris and Porn have been friends and possibly more. Both belong to the LGBT community which flourishes in the citys and countries of Asia. With an open mind, Chris got to know Porn, and in his/her own way, love her. When Porn has an accident on her motorcycle and is laid up in the hospital, Chris goes to visit at her request. Chris has always told Porn she should recount some of the tales from her friends and their relationships in book form as she had so may stores to tell. This always brought a snicker to Porn's lips...Until now.

As she lays there, hurting but happy that Chris has come, she regales him with stories of friends and acquaintances, and the experiences they have been through within the GBLT community, and some of them are pretty strange. Porn refers to them as "sexperiences" and sets out to entertain Chris and herself with the sexy tales as told to her. What results is a very erotic adventure through the world of the Cross-Dressers, Transvestites, and others of her community. These she often refers to as "gender confused creatures" and yet fully acknowledges her place among them with pride and affection. She is quite convinced that her accidnet has brought her to her senses, and she decides Chris should be the one to tell these stories in book form. After all, he is the one with the talent for writing.

As Chris and Porn exchange the various experiences they have been told about, a better appreciation of the community comes into view. Not being as tied or restricted by the so-called "Western Morality" enables them go relatively unhindered through their nights, playing at their roles and enjoying the friendships that some could only envy. Whether a girl's night out, or a special party, these guys and gals go out to experience life, not sit and watch it go by, and therein lies the rub. Yes, they still face some prejudices, but their time and lifestyles are far more free and the chance of recognition by those coworkers which may happen into whatever club they have chosen for the evening is always a chance. For some it is a concern, but for the most part, they are well disguised. No one stops to wonder if there is someone they know behind the glamour of these assorted Ladyboys and Cross Dressers.

There is a wealth of discovery within these pages as Porn spins her tales of life, love, and experimentation. The discoveries made bring out the points that openminded women can and will participate in a friend and/or lover's fantasies and foibles. It is a light shining in a dark place to which many in Western societies abhore and ridicule, and few take the time or want to understand. Chris and Porn travel down these highways and byways with impunity, enjoying each encounter and each tale as if were a personal experience and each happily spinning it to their own taste. Porn also calls Chris on some of his "attitudes" and pointing out he has faced many of the same dilemmas and some similar situations as he explored his more feminine side and dressed the part. The most important thing here is the friendship that has developed and has been of long standing between the pair, and the fact Chris would and does drop everything to head to his friend Porn's side.

Porn’s Stars is NOT a book for the prudish, the narrowminded, or the faint of heart. It is a delightfully sexy and rather raucous look into what many might be tempted to call the steamy seamy underbelly of society, but then that would be so wrong. Fictional or not, they are composites of people out there who have lives, loves, wants, and needs that our puritanical little brains cannot conceive. These are portrayals of real people relegated to the shadows, shunned, and not understood. What is worse, few even try and many condemn openly what they hide in their own closets.

Porn’s Stars by Chris Burrows is an interesting read, and takes you on a fascinating journey into forbidden territory. The characters are fillbodied, realistic, and delightfully mischievious as they scamper and cavort through their very own world. If you want to walk on the "light side" head on over to Club Lighthouse Publishing and pick up a copy of Porn’s Stars today. I know this book is staying on my keeper shelf for certain! I hope to see many more from Chris as time goes by. I will be keeping my eyes open...

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
