There is no one she would desire to marry here, and being sold as a slave has no appeal either for the obvious reasons. Passion is truly an independent girl, she has skills that few women could or would acquire. She can build or repair almost any ship, a talent she picked up from her miserly father as he was teaching her brothers. Losing her mother when she was so very young did not give her the experience of having a loving and softer presence in her life, and she remembers only snatches of her mother and her gentleness. Sometimes Passion feels it is a handicap, yet she wouldn't be almost ready to make her break if it wasn't for her hard and unforgiving father. Unbeknownst to Vulture, Passion learned what he taught her brothers, and she does it better, earning small sums and favours for work done when none of her family was around. She has a small nest egg, and it will do her for a while. What she couldn't possibly be expecting is the cargo ship that crashes on their landing pad...
Dragon, the son of the Emperor of the Galaxy, has cajoled his friend, and personal bodyguard, Hawk and some of the crew of his father's converted cargo ship into taking a trip. The plan is to travel to the far reaches of the Galaxy to find some entertainment for Hawk as a sort of bachelor party. He has made an advantageous match, not a love match, but Hawk is resigned to it for now. Dragon is determined to find the place one of his father's diplomats said contained "every kind of woman one could ask for" as a treat before Hawk's ceremony. Hawk was hard enough to tease into coming, but now the ship is in trouble, and Dragon is worried they will not make it even if they do attempt to land anywhere.
For the men, women were just a commodity to be taken, shared, thrown away as they pleased, but there was something about the young woman named Passion that struck a chord within Hawk that signaled her specialness. Not only was she a top-flight mechanic, she was alluring in a very earthy way. She was totally unconscious of her beauty, something he was intrigued by and to be fair, when he studied Dragon, he felt certain the Prince felt the same way. Hawk senses this could be something big for both of them, and when he finds Passion bathing behind the shop, he takes full advantage. He is surprised at her willingness to do the forbidden, and quickly retaliates in like fashion. He is also determined to let Dragon know what he has found, and even though Hawk cannot claim her for his own, there is not anything except her class, to keep Dragon from laying claim to this delightful bundle of sensuous and loving woman.
