There are many things in life that one may ponder, but the origin, one’s birthright is seldom one of those things. However, this is not so for Cyra Delphin, and she is very aware of her differences, and of her increasing discomfort. Being different was not so bad before, but lately, it has become a burden. The point was, or still is for that matter, she was not who her parents told her she was, and it was quite unfortunate they died before she could really find out the whole truth. Then again, her parents had taken away her skin, her only comfort in a strange world, so maybe they wouldn’t have told her anyway. Now, that may not seem like much, but the longer she stays with the mysterious Thomas Marrowbone, the more she understands about the losses she suffered by not knowing all the facts about her origins. There are things that make no sense, like the fact that everyone she has been introduced to has insisted that she is fey, but that is not something she is comfortable with at this time. Heck, as far as she is concerned, she may never be comfortable with it.

She does know one thing for certain and it does bring her a great measure of relief. The fact she is not crazy has eased her mind greatly, but has stoked her curiosity to an all-time high. From all she has been told, and from all the plans that are being made, she may actually be able to help. She has learned the goblins are trying to take over the world, it is not her imagination or some drug-induced hallucination. For those who would not listen when she tried to give her warning there may not be much hope, she will not worry about them. They are the ones who pronounced her crazy, and caused her to doubt herself. She knew she most definitely wasn’t at all insane. She was quite sane then as well as now, not thanks to the goblins. If Thomas is correct, they wanted to be able to control her, and Cyra is glad to be away from them. The Institute was really an insidious place, and she doesn’t want to go back there unless it’s absolutely necessary. She has more important things to think of at the moment. The plan the goblins have for Sin City has to be stopped, and she is willing to do whatever she can to help.

She is a beautiful creature, made of the sea, the air, and living things, but Thomas Marrowbone knows that she is unaware of the forces that make up her nature. She has denied her magical nature for so long while living as a human. Her magic has been forced into hiding by her parents, who were too afraid, or too selfish to care what became of her. He wishes to the depths of his soul that he could be the one to set her free, to see her fly and to join with her. Now is not the time for thoughts of that nature. He has a job to do, and thankfully he can leave her safe in the shian with Jack and Io. There is little that Thomas doesn’t know, his own nature is complex, and he can easily see the complexities in others. Maybe when he comes back, providing he stays alive, he can help Cyra explore the complexities of her blended nature. Now, and for the immediate future, he is just going to concentrate on stopping Likith and Fornix. Something tells him that he will soon be seeing Cyra as well.

For now, He has a job to do, a series of plans to thwart, for Lilith and Fornix are planning to drop the hammer on the west coast. They are going bomb them with some of the nuclear waste stored in Yucca Mountain. It is not a big deal for a goblin to make such a tunnel, and Liltih, the Queen of Sin City, and her delightful henchman General Fornix are sure to cash in big on the ocean front property. This cannot happen, and Thomas must once again infiltrate Sin City, and attempt top quash the big plan. He knows that the job he is embarking upon is dangerous, and he also knows that the whole western tier of the United States is counting on him. The dragon within is very edgy, possessive, and has Thomas wondering if it has plans of its own. It can be difficult when there are two creatures sharing the same skin, and Thomas is hoping that someday, the dragon will leave him in peace. But for now, he will just concentrate on staying alive long enough to make passionate love again to Cyra Delphin.

Those darn goblins are at it again. This time they are trying to destroy California, and the west coast. Melanie caught them in the act his time, and let us go along with Thomas and Cyra as they uncover the full extent of the wicked plans the Goblin Queen Lilith has for the populace of the western shores. Outsider tells the tale of Thomas and Cyra, and their journey on the Wild Side. Melanie’s delightful sense of humor and whimsy is again carried through the book, as we follow Thomas and Cyra to Las Vegas, and find out how the research Cyra had been doing has been perverted to the benefit of the goblins. Thomas knows that they are in danger, but he cannot talk Cyra into leaving. She is determined to see this through, and though he may never tell her, he is secretly pleased that she wants to help.

From the enchanted desert shians of the fey, to the glitz and glitter of the Las Vegas strip, Thomas and Cyra fight their way to do what they can to save the West Coast and humanity. The fun has just begun, and there is some serious goblin dirt to be cleaned up. Thomas could not have expected things to turn out the way they have, and the last thing in the world he expected to find in his crazy mixed up world is love. Come along for the ride, as they cope with the trials and the foibles of dealing with goblin-kind, and the messes they make. Outsider, the wonderful sequel to Traveler, is chocked full of suspense, danger, and will instill in you a real sense of wanting more. This wonderful Dorchester LoveSpell release by Melanie Jackson is available at bookstores everywhere. Outsider would make any romance lover a great Christmas gift, and will serve to whet the appetite for the next in the Wild Side Series, Courier. Happy Thanksgiving and by all means, enjoy.

Yours in good reading,

Rose!
