Janelle and Kevin Trent are happily married but Janelle feels no matter how much she loves Kevin, her life would be more complete with a baby. She realizes the amount of money spent on the fertility treatments is becoming costly so decides to go to the credit union and apply for a line of credit. All her faith is dissipating and Kevin doesn’t understand how important this is to her. She doesn’t wish to lose him but she feels their little spats are causing a rift in their relationship. Kevin believes they already are blessed with much. He loves Janelle but the fixating of becoming pregnant is becoming too much for him. If only she would see that they are already truly blessed perhaps things would go back to normal. Even if they never had a child, there were many children that had no families that needed a place to call home. With their money disappearing as fast as they can make it on her treatments, he knows things have to shift in their relationship. The more she sees Janelle in so much agony, not only from the shots, but the anticipation of becoming pregnant; it takes its toll on Kevin. No longer does he feel important in her life, and until they explore other options, there is no point to a one-sided marriage. Janelle needs to face up to either choosing Kevin or a child if she wishes to have her marriage restored to what it was when they said I do.

Janelle and Kevin are believable characters that act upon a situation that often happens to many couples who wish a child and unable to become pregnant. Ms. Braden sketches two people who truly do love each other, but while one feels something may be missing, the other feels it is complete and is willing to weigh the options so they can meet in the middle. I could feel both their emotions as they endured the consequences of the events at hand.
