A run down apartment complex serves as a way station for aliens heading towards fun filled destinations. Earth provides no touristy entertainment, as the aliens believe it to be too backwards. Although rigidly controlled, alien space benders are opening unauthorized travel portals that threatens to expose their existence to the humans.

Jaynie just wants to play her guitar and marry a stable man who will father her children. She will not find that kind of guy playing in seedy bars in the evenings, nor at the coffeehouse she works at during the day. Jaynie’s nerdy neighbor is plainly interested in dating her, but his paint-splattered clothes and huge wrap-around sunglasses, which he constantly wears, does not spark any attraction.

Paid assassin, Fred earned his demotion by getting involved with the wrong woman. Sent to Earth to manage the portals aliens use as travel layover points, he tolerates the punishment by painting intergalactic portraits. Posing as a nerdy artist works well, disguising his alluring good looks from the Earth women who tend to flock around him. However, it also deters the interest of one woman he lusts for since moving into the complex.

Interstellar Lover is a cute, amusing, though often times wacky, story. As Fred begins to seduce Jaynie, a system glitch purposely exposes an alien travel portal in her apartment. Fred, aka Kutlazx, must protect her from the being who wishes to harm her…to get to him. Taking her to his world, Fred shows her the delights of living off Earth; dining in fancy restaurants (as he cannot cook), buying her a pendragon who worships her and then clothing Jaynie in manner she could never before afford. However, the threat closes in; bring back a past Fred prefers stay hidden.

An eclectic cast of characters paves the way through this story’s charming plot: a group of man haters disguised as poets, green slugs whom open doors, a praying mantis that uses the toilet, and rodents as cab drivers. Like I said, eclectic characters…even eccentric. Jaynie is admirable, readily accepting the quirky traits of her neighbors, more importantly Fred. Saving herself for the perfect husband, she gives into Fred’s amorous advances, without regrets. His lovemaking is more than satisfying…it’s electrifying! When Jaynie’s threatened, Fred’s gentle demeanor changes baring the real man who is a cold, calculating, and resourceful assassin.

Fast paced, highly entertaining…Ms. Dawn delights her readers with imaginative characters who support a madcap plot. Interstellar Lover, published by New Concepts Publishing does not stand-alone. Ms. Dawn has many other books though the same publisher and they all seem just as fun filled or intriguing.
