Aisling Bradaigh, a faerie, well, actually half fairy, half human hasn't always had the perfect life but something tells her that after stumbling upon a human she has never met that he is her life mate and her luck is about to change. Of course she has to find a way to express it to Conall that she has mixed blood because being a complete human, she is certain he hasn't a clue. When Aisling desires something, she normally goes after it and this is one good-looking gent that she really wants. As their intensifying love grows, he wonders if he can overlook that she has faerie blood or if the destruction of his father and the reason behind his hatred will severe their undying love for another.
Aisling is a young girl that stays true to her Mother and her existence even though there have been times she has fallen prey to much scorn because of her half blood. Her mother and half brother have always been there for her but there is a longing her in her carefree and curious life that seems to be missing an ingredient. After meeting and striking a fancy for Conall, she will have no other man but him to live with always. Unfortunately he insists on causing her pressure to rise and her heart to hammer.
Conall O'Brianin, Lord of Kilronan dislikes faeries, not to mention the spells they cast. He has a hard time forgetting what happened to his father that led him to despising the faeries. The awful past is just too much for him. And the female faeries are the absolute worse. Then there is Aisling who he happens to view in the forest. She is quite beautiful but he believes her to be human, nothing more. She is breathtaking and brings him to mind of flowers and a wood sprite. As soon as he learns she is part faerie, he is mortified and seeks to find a way to push her from his memory.
Conall soon learns that Aisling is a faerie with a variety of magic that is most different. He cannot allow her to stay embedded in his heart when the haunting past refuses to leave. Now he must decide is his attraction for her stronger than his hate toward the female faeries and is there some way that he can release the past and enjoy a future with Aisling. How could he yield to sharing a life with her, to give his heart to her when he hates the faeries? If she wasn't so enticing things wouldn't have created such uproar in his emotions. There is already a growing feud between the families but he needs to find a way to reach both sources. He sets out to see if her magic can terminate the feud between their families while wondering just how faerie dust is made.
Ten years ago Aisling lost her father and she has only known the life with the faeries. Because of her lineage and not being complete full-bloodied faerie, things have not always been pleasant for the young girl, whether human or faerie. The prejudice has often been difficult growing up. After meeting the handsome man in the forest she sees a new development in her life. Conall has a way of making her feel special with his sweet suave demeanor the way he carries himself. She confides to her mother about the human and how her heart glows with tender feelings and her mother confesses that Conall just might be her soul mate, the life mate that she has longed for all these years. With extreme high optimism, she rushes off to the forest to find him and make her intentions known hoping he will still be there. Conall is enchanted with Aisling the moment he sets eyes on her but after discovering she is a faerie, things begin to clash. He knows that a faerie once used magic on his father and he wishes no part of any faerie yet his heart sears with heat for her. She is buried in his mind, his thoughts and he soon believes perhaps she has bewitched him. Not being able to cease his thoughts or his desires, he returns to the forest to find Aisling and much much more. But the two must learn to give up on certain issues in life before they can surrender to their passions entirely.
