To say that Jack Mongomery hated magic would definitely be putting it mildly. Magic was a destructive force in his family, and he sworeit would never hold power over him again. His sister, Isis, had a career almost obliterated by a belief in magic, and when she found the real thing in her husband Darius, it tore her from him and the rest of the family. He worked for more than two years to find a solution, unfortunately it worked too late. He was stranded on Kaf, the homeworld of the Djinn, the home of those who wielded the magic he hated with a supreme passion. He had to find Isis, he had to get her to take him home. The beauty he was with, Leila had brought him here, but was now powerless. She said he stole her magic, her ma-at. He hadn't done that had he? The talisman he'd built for his own protection wasn't that strong was it? That wasn't possible. He was a scientist and had approached it from a totally logical and scientific point of view. His goal was protection, he didn't want to posess or use magic, only a means to protect himself against it, and yet, there was no denying that Leila no longer posessed her magical powers.....

Oh Great Solomon! No sandals, no food, no clean robe, not even a way to remove the tangles from her hair, it was terrifying. Even worse, they had to face the dangers of The Tower Lands of Kaf, and she had lost her ma-at!. This was not the outcome Leila envisioned when she went to Terra in search of a child. The child that she wanted Jack to give her. His picture, the one that she had seen in the posession of the Protector's zaniya Isis, drew her to him like a magnet. Isis' brother Jack, he could give her a child. She desperately needed and wanted a child to whom she could devote herself and her meager talents, a child to love and cherish. The Djinn were not a fertile people, and children were greatly cherished. A human man could possibly give her a child, they were very fertile. Isis and Zoe had children for Darius and Simon. Why could she not give it a try? She did not fool herself about her ma-at though. Her talents in wielding ma-at, the magic of the djinn, were weak. It had always been a shameful thing for her, and the fact that she possessed hardly enough to make her life on Kaf bearable, left her feeling deserted and alone. Now even that paltry bit of weak ma-at had been stripped away, leaving a gaping emptiness in her being.

Kathleen Nance has done it again! This time, she takes us to Kaf and the 'mis-adventures' of Isis Montgomery's brother Jack, and the beautiful and mischievous djinni, Leila. A man of science, Jack didn't really believe in magic. He found that it was real, and that his brother-in-law could wield it with great dexterity against him. Jack would never be controlled again. Leila made plans, for she wanted a child, and had her own agenda and ideas for Jack as father. The fireworks that their meeting causes erupts into a string of karmic events that neither expects. There are some very great surprises in the works for both Jack and Leila....and I'm not telling. Enchantment is truly a treat. We get to see places we have only heard about from Simon and Darius. The delights and dangers of the beautiful world of Kaf, are only the beginning for Jack and Leila. Kathleen's unmistakabe style will transport you to the lands of the Djinn and give you a tale of love, longing, and two troubled people who are thrust into a situation unwittingly. Enchantment will simply delight and surprise you. Enchantment is in a bookstore near you now, so go! Hurry up because you don't want to miss this wonderful September release for Dorchester's LoveSpell collection!

Yours in good reading,

Rose!
