Brittany begins having feelings for Lucas after she meets him but there is something about him that spins fear inside her while still emitting a form of love. After she sees that Lucas is involved with a DEA agent’s death, she cannot believe she allowed herself to fall for someone like Lucas. She begins to question her feelings. Lucas Cortine is one influential man who personifies danger. When he sees something he desires he goes after it. He has charm, sway and much authority. Being so strong in power, many fear him and he strives on that. After hearing Brittany singing he immediately falls for her. He believes she is a singer from New Orleans and goes by the name of Kat. Desiring her in his life always, he decides to take her to his home even if she must become his prisoner.

Lucas is happy to be with Brittany in his swamp home, thinking that her real identity is really Kat Boutie, a singer from New Orleans. In a night of passion he makes her his but when a blunder occurs that she happens to see, she will have nothing to do with him, prompting him to try to explain the situation. There is only one thing left for him to do to keep her always. She must marry him; if she refuses he will harm her father. He sees this as the only way to finally convince her that he truly loves her and he can be trusted. Yet his bounty hunter seems to think he wants Brittany for himself, and Lucas has to find a way to prove otherwise.

Brittany is drawn toward Lucas and in a moment of passion she submits herself to him in a night losing her innocence. Unfortunately her joys of pleasure turns into a nightmare when she happens to witness Lucas kill a man. Escaping, she heads home to her father and changes her identity taking a job as a waitress. She may have escaped the wrath of Lucas but in the aftermath of things, she left her heart with him and has a hard time forgetting him and that one night in his arms. Just the remembrance of that night shows he rules her with a passion. Lucas is furious when he learns that Brittany has vanished. That is one woman that he will not allow to leave. With only one thing left to do he hires a bounty hunter to track her down and return her to him. The only problem lies with Mark Maitland, the bounty hunter. When he finds her and returns her to Lucas, he finds Brittany totally irresistible not to mention breathtaking. He also will stop at nothing to have the beautiful woman. Now that Lucas has Brittany in the palm of his hand, he is determined to show her his true feelings. He intends to explain everything to her and make her see they can have a life together. It is only a matter of time before the truth reveals if the two really have something worth saving, or if Brittany’s heart really belongs to another.

Creole Blues is a very shivering read that brings on goose bumps and edge of the seat nail biting. It takes the character of Brittany and places her in turbulence where her true expressions and feelings are strongly revealed. Her love is tested as well as the man who took her innocence. It is highly energized, remarkably penned with bright, vivid characters that bring life to the pages. Creole Blues is one of those stories that after reading it, you go WOW, that’s how great it is. Lucas can be a likeable character one minute and a meanie the next, almost like a JR type of guy. With some lies, mistrust, murder, mayhem and love, the story blends with great creativity that almost takes the breath away.

Jewel Adams is one terrific storyteller. She can take a story with one sentence and create a masterpiece that spins with electricity. With in-depth characters exhibiting great emotional impact, this story really delivers. She paints Lucas as a character with many personalities where the reader hates him one minute and roots for him the next. Brittany’s emotions come across the pages making her character very believable. I liked the way Ms. Adams entails her story when the reader thinks they have it all figured out then bingo something shifts thinking otherwise. She blends in a few other characters to fashion a read that is spellbinding. Creole Blues is one book that shouldn’t be missed. Be sure to grab a copy today, at where disappointment will never enter the mind. Bravo to Ms. Adams.

Sincerely good reading,

Linda
