Marianne Chalmers enjoys being a librarian but of late she is not sleeping well. With the unfortunate death of her dear husband, there is an empty void in her life. Her sleeplessness is due mostly to lusty dreams of a blond hero that she can’t get off her mind by the name of Cody Greene. He is just some guy that she had a crush on when she was in school. Of course most all the girls had a comparable crush on Cody Green. She is just a librarian and librarians normally stay to themselves, right? So why now are her feelings growing stronger for the handsome sheriff? When she was the school Victorian she always had her nose in books, now her nights are starting to be filled with sheer pleasure with Cody in her arms. It is like a romance story coming to life right in front of her eyes. The remembrance of the dreams the next morning, are sheer pleasure but is it something that she really wants to put a stop to or is it her subconscious telling her to follow her heart?

Marianne never imagined that when her friend, Dulcie took her to a healer to grab some sleeping potion that the restful slumber would only create a world of dreams about a great looking blond man that would end up coming true. To top matters off, late at night she is out sleepwalking in the library and her handsome hunk by the name of Cody is following her around. When she ends up seducing Cody neither one of them are prepared for what will happen next. After Cody explains to her what she has been doing after the second day of her sleepwalking and what part he has been playing, can she ever face him in the daylight hours again? Or is this just the beginning of a long term relationship?

Sheriff Cody Green takes his job serious. It is drawing close to rodeo week in Starling County, Texas and Cody knows he will have his hands full, not only with noisy town’s people but raging bulls. Every time this event is held, the town is encumbered with an overload of tourists. Too bad it isn’t the tourists that is keeping Cody extremely overworked. When the very beautiful widow, Marianne Chalmers, begins her sleepwalking in the wee early hours as a fair maiden, Cody is bewitched by her spell. He has no other alternative then to try to get the lovely widow back to her bed. Unfortunately Marianne has other plans and they consist of seducing him with her charms.

Cody has too much on his plate then worrying what is going on with Marianne, but the woman really gets his curiosity spinning. He really isn’t the marrying kind especially when his last girlfriend left him because he couldn’t commit. Yet the late night hours that he spends with the widow Marianne is quite a different story. The town’s activities already keep him busy but watching the lovely widowed Ms. Chalmers is an event that he is beginning to get sheer satisfaction from. His feelings for her increase but problems arise as well, making it hard for them to develop a close relationship. After he follows her to the library while she is dressed as a fair maiden, he is immediately mesmerized. How will he ever resist Marianne’s seduction once he enters her spinning web? Will he ever be able to get that lasting connection he needs with Marianne?

Beautiful Dreamer is a different kind of story. Between a town having a week to hold a rodeo with runaway bulls, with thunderous town folk, not to mention the sheriff busy with a very sexy sleepwalking librarian who gives him warmth all over, the reader has enough twists and turns in this story to really keep their attention until the end. The characters exhibit great dialogue between them and the story is smooth flowing along with the great action. Beautiful Dreamer is a sweet romantic story about a couple who spin a romance around them with the whole town keeping a vigil eye. The sensual scenes between Marianne and Cody are warm but not overpowered with extreme hot sex. The entire cast of characters make this book a must read. The character of Cody is a down to earth sheriff who isn’t loaded in conceit in this small town and that makes a plus with this reader. He wishes a change in his life and hopes that his duty will not always interfere so he can keep the feelings that he holds in his heart for the lovely maiden a change that he desires more than anything. The author makes Marianne a very sympathetic female even though she has lost her dear husband. She is a believable character that many can relate to. Even when it comes to her relationship with Cody, many can relate in wondering why some handsome guy would go out with a woman that wasn’t the all around grand person in school and just some female who spends her time working in a library surrounded by books. Marianne portrays this character very well. The town is similar to many small towns. There are your old cronies who sit around and do nothing but gossip and as always when a rodeo is in town you are going to have your incidents that are always unpredictable in any situation. The typical townsfolk’s are always the ones that have to butt into everyone’s business and try to make it their own. Luckily some in the town really want to see Marianne and Cody together and this makes it a big plus in this enjoyable read.

Cynthianna Appel has produced a charming story that grabs the reader’s attention and hooks you like bait until the final dramatic ending. She starts the book with a pop of a firecracker and ends with a TNT rush. Ms. Appel gives the reader a captivating contemporary romance that makes the reader feel good all over. It’s a book you want to go out and tell others to be sure to read. I thought of a Hallmark movie where some of the townsfolk pitch in to try to get two people together who are so attracted to each other and finally discover no matter what obstacles arise they are meant to be together. Ms. Appel created some humorous scenes that really brighten up a day. She truly delights the reader with this cleverly written story. I really enjoyed the way Cody’s expressions played out with his feelings for Marianne. He was one sheriff that was a true gentleman. If you’re looking for a book worth the read, don’t miss Beautiful Dreamer. This book does not disappoint. You can purchase it at Triskelion Publishing.
