Derek Carlisle is looking for a bed and breakfast when he happens accidentally upon Loryn’s property to ask for directions. What he finds is a charming woman and a place that he is certain will be great on his upcoming movie. He is even willing to put money up to help Loryn with the place and make it fixable for her. Since she wishes to get the house to its original look and feel, he will pay for all cost for the renovations.
Derek finds himself being drawn to Loryn after she accepts his offer. With each day there is something about her that pulls him closer. He senses her ache inside her heart and he would like to bring that liveliness out. She also treats him as any other person and not as some actor who needs to have constant people swaying over him. One thing he has always desired is the normal life and a woman who understood the peace he needed that came along with it. With Loryn, he sees that it is possibly within his grasp.
Loryn wants nothing to do with the buried past. She wants to run and hide and forget everything that has given her sorrow with the loss of her dear family. When she leaves and purchases a new home, she wants complete solitude. After seeing the house, she knew she had to purchase it. She never expected the handsome stranger that would come afterwards, insisting to use her house for a movie project. She is not certain about any of it, and then decides to give in. She never imagined that by giving in, her heart would also be giving in to a good-looking man who could melt her heart and restore her to life again. But every time she looks at him her heart beats faster and her knees grow weak. She had closed her heart to repairs but Derek is about to show her new meaning of restoration. Derek feels something for the lovely Loryn. She needs to feel alive again and stop hiding from the past. By taking charge, he intends on showing her there is another life out there for her to enjoy. He wishes to use her house for an upcoming movie and in the process it will give him more time to get to know her better. As the two find themselves slowly growing closer to each other, Loryn learns that love sometimes does come around for a second time. Derek knows he can attain inner peace with Loryn in a happy life but his hectic life seems to continue to bombard his happiness. With his lifestyle and her troubled past in letting go, he wonders will either have that contented bliss that life has to offer? If he can get her to let him in and unlock that door, he is certain he can find a way to have a life outside so much hustle and bustle.
All My Dreams is a delightful book that captures a beautiful setting throughout. Loryn shows strength and determination even as she tries to bury the past and hide from many things in her life. She shows the struggle of trying to deal with situations the best way she knows how in her heart and especially caring for a person ill then to see him die, I could feel the trepidation that issued through her body. Derek is a terrific fellow who wishes to help her unlock the hurt that deepens her sorrow. He is like a shining knight to the rescue. I like the way Derek slowly courted Loryn and didn’t rush into things as they both discovered each other. The secondary characters sprinkle a seasoning that enhances the story further. Loryn and Derek make a charming couple that stands out in the storyline and makes the reader cheer them on.
Jennifer Mueller once again allows the reader to feel the awareness of everything in her books and this one is no exception. Majorca and the old house with everything in its existence down to the olive trees and almost the welcome breeze lend an ambiance that touches. Even with sadness to the story, Ms. Mueller captivates the audience by giving an electric conclusion to her stories that makes this reader go awe. I find that every work she pens comes out a shining winner. There is none that I have found disappointing. This is another wonderful journey that takes the reader into emotions of the characters and makes them come alive. Her refreshing characters with their charismatic charm always sprinkles delight in every story. She always satisfies and injects new faces, new names and a new travel that keeps the reader mesmerized. I say she wins some Emmy’s or Oscars because she is one terrific writer who never fails to bring me enjoyment with any of her stories and desires a winning trophy. She packs a huge amount of punch in her stories that deliver. This is a sizzling romance that should not be missed.
