Title: A Killer’s Agenda
Author: Anita Whiting

Published in 2007 by Samhain Publishing
Genre: Romantic Suspense
ISBN: 1-59998-463-6

What was the purpose of Aunt Ellie’s death? What was the true motive? Bradley Norton, Brad, needs to know the truth. And when it is a drive by shooting, it is hard to find someone to blame, let alone make any sense out of it. The police call it an accidental shooting. Brad’s gut feeling tells him otherwise. He tells his cousin, Kevin, he has to find answers and is determined to get to the bottom of it, whatever it takes. With the help of a private investigator, Brad hopes to get the truth.

Alexis Leahy, Alex, for short, is not a novice investigator and she can handle practically any case tossed in her lap. In fact, she comes highly recommended for cases. She owns the detective agency in town and often her ESP makes her a bit clairvoyant. Coming from a large family, they always appeared to be involved in something about every minute of every day. When Brad approaches her, suggesting his aunt was possibly murdered by a serial killer and wants to find the person responsible, it is just another case she is willing to accept.

With sheer determination and hard work, Brad had turned into a good businessman. Just because the company borne his father’s name at Norton Securities, Brad had not used the Norton finances for his success. He became successful on his own and now he had to find out who was really responsible for his aunt, who had been his surrogate mother for years. After six months, her death still torn him up inside but showing emotion was not something a Norton normally did. Of course, all that changes when he visits the detective agency of Alexis Leahy. Brad never imagined the feisty Alex, with her long auburn hair, brilliant green eyes, and Irish temper would get under his skin in the worse way. At first he is skeptical that she has enough qualifications to really help him, and after hearing of her psychic abilities, he really wonders until the feisty petite gal shows how strong her bite can actually be.

Alex assures Brad that she has been out of diapers for a good while, and to be honest prefers teddies. She can do her job and doesn’t need anyone to tell her differently. In no time, Brad and Alex are working side by side and the closer they get to unraveling the truth, they find themselves enmeshed into other dangers they never imagined, as well as other unanswered murders. The killer is not too pleased with their escapades and intends to make them an example, too, if they don’t back off. For a time, Brad thought Alex really wouldn’t be able to help, but the more time he spends with her, the more he sees what a great asset she has become. The beautiful Irish girl has heated something in his heart and he doesn’t wish to let go of her. As the killer draws in closer, Brad must do everything he can to keep the woman he has fallen in love from being hurt. They cannot have a future together until the killer comes out of hiding and the monstrosity of murders cease.

I have to say I love the beginning of A Killer’s Agenda. Hook, line and sinker, it took me strong and kept me going until the last page. Brad and Alex are not only likeable characters but appear to leap out at the reader. I love how Alex is feisty and stands her ground. The little flames they send to each other keep the story even more enticing with their strong attraction for the other. The seasoning of the plot, along with the serial killer, makes this an absolute read one shouldn’t miss. Anita Whiting has written a consistent flowing read that does not disappoint or detour the reader in any way. She adds secondary characters with her hero and heroine and weaves a book that opens up and explores so many fast-paced moments that it is hard to put it down. She incorporates a great romantic suspense that rivets drama throughout.

This grand hunt has the adrenaline rushing and the reader on the edge of their seat, in anticipation to the next development, in a well-written story that engages. The unscrambling of the mystery with Brad’s aunt really spins a remarkable tale that is dynamic in every sense. Ms. Whiting definitely keeps the reader guessing until the end. She opens up the cold that has been inside Brad’s heart and allows him to finally feel love and warmth again. Thrilling, exciting, great emotions, and convincing, she truly satisfies her reader completely in this fine read. Why not visit www.samhainpublishing.com today and grab this fantastic story. Don’t let this one get away.

Sincerely good reading,
