It seems that Chase Taylor and her family are as different as night and day. Chris, her brother, loves to rule with complete authority. A day doesn’t go by that the family isn’t fighting over something. Chase is fed up with the whole events. Of late it is her dear grandmother, Nancy’s, will. Nancy, her paternal grandmother, at least kept the family together when she was living. Now, the family is eager to learn the contents of the will and who gets what share. Chase desires nothing. She misses her grandmother and would do anything if she were still alive. None of the others even visited her when she was living, yet the minute she dies, the wolves gather. Imagine everyone’s shock, including Chase, when she learns her grandmother left her the house, and she must share it with someone she doesn’t know. Reece Weston got to know Nancy before she died and he found her to be a very likeable person. She was a good friend to him. Nancy even made him the executor of her estate. One thing he never wanted to do was get in the middle of Chase, and any feud with her family, but once he learns she is to share the house with Chase, complete turmoil erupts, especially with Danielle Taylor, Chase’s mother.
For six months, Chase and Reece are to jointly share the house before any thoughts of selling it comes into play. If they wish to sell it after six months, it must go for ten thousand dollars to the other person. If neither Chase nor Reece wish to buy it, then it will be sold and the money donated to charity. This prompts more of an outcry because the family knows the house is worth far more than that and the money should stay within the family. Danielle is sure that Reece tricked Nancy into the house. Chase refuses to listen to her money hungry family. She agrees to share the house with Reece for the month as her grandmother desired. There had to be a reason she chose to write her will in that manner. As the two spend more time with each other in the house, they begin to form an attraction that soon blossoms. Chase would love to have more of a closer friendship with Reece and hopes that he feels the same. Just when things start moving in the right direction for them, Danielle decides it is time to intrude. With so many things conspiring against Chase and Reece, they must follow their heart if they wish to find true happiness.
Inheritance is a lovely romantic tale of two likeable people who match up so evenly. It is almost like Grandma Nancy knew the future, especially when it came to her other family members. The reader gets an intense feel for Chase and Reece, not to mention the family members, who are as greedy as they come. Ms. Braden spins a delightful read that flows consistently and touches on family, love and the joy of having it all without having to depend on material assets. This is one story that really captivates.
Summer’s Return by Cindy K. Green
Arianna Morgan is pleased to finally show property to someone from the Radcliffe Financial Empire. But this is not just anyone she is meeting, it is Parker. In her four years as realtor, she isn’t getting just any ordinary client. It has been seven years since she has seen him. They were kids when they grew up and his parents came to the beach house during the summer months. They had a long history, she never forgot. Soon she would see him face to face again and she was anxiously waiting for that moment. Since his father’s heart attack then death, Parker Radcliffe has been quite busy running the company. In fact he was the majority shareholder of his fathers stock. He had been so busy with business affairs, he couldn’t remember the last time he actually vacationed or had any fun. He is left to go and sell the beach house, a home that holds such dear memories that is hard for him to forget, especially of the one girl he grew up with, his Ari. He is caught off guard when he learns that Arianna is the realtor. Memories come flooding back to his mind. This is one decision he knows will be hard to put behind him.
Arianna is thrilled to see Parker; he is more handsome then ever. She still holds feelings for him that have never vanished. Her love for him appears to be even stronger and she can only hope that he feels the same for her. Parker still has sensations for Arianna but he is almost afraid to get too close to her for fear of opening up his heart. He has no idea if Arianna is really serious in his feelings for her, or if it some game. He recalls the many times she mercifully flirted with him. But that was then and they are no longer young kids but mature adults. She still has a certain charm that it is hard for him to forget. Arianna’s heart surges for excitement when she sees Parker. She realizes that Parker really needs a vacation and to lighten up. He doesn’t need to be all work like his father, forgetting to enjoy life, and Arianna is going to be the person to remind him how fun life can be, if only Parker will permit the coolness in his heart to melt. He has to know if she truly loves him or is this all a game, as they discover love all over again.
Summer’s Return is a lovely tale where the reader is caught up in the moment of Arianna and Parker. The nostalgia, the visualization of the beach, along with the two looking for crabs, everything is there that captivates. The emotions of Arianna and Parker could definitely be felt in this moving read. The despair in Arianna and Parker comes across the pages and leaps to the reader. Ms. Green fashions a charming story of two people who never lost true love for each other and once they reunite, it almost doubles in portion. She speaks and her words pull in the reader.
A Hint of Summer: A Moonlit Romance Beach Duet is a great read any time of the year. The believable characters spring forth and create real situations, while allowing love and romance to enter and create a terrific read. Ms. Braden and Ms. Green are two talented authors that allow the reader to connect with the characters. Their storytelling is remarkable in this book that I truly relish from the first page to the last. This great story should be read over many times and can be found at www.moonlitromance.com where the adventure of a lifetime awaits.
Sincerely good reading,
Linda
