When another man surprises her informing that Susan sent him to rescue her, she is relieved that she is able to finally get out of that hole. But after a little time spent with Clint, she begins to wonder which would have been safer being with Clint or taking her chances with the goons. Clint is one hot man that is rapidly heating her flesh.
Clint Becker has been sent by his good friend Susan to rescue a damsel in distress. Of course he had no idea the gorgeous female would kick his blood pressure up a notch not only in male libido but with her mouthy temper. The moment he set eyes on her, he knew he was in deep trouble. He is a mercenary and he hires his service to the highest purse and he sure doesn’t need her to try to tell him how to do his business.
Clint watches the way the two men handle Sarah and waits for the perfect time to surface. He has to play it cool if he intends to get them both safely off the island. Of course if Sarah doesn’t let him do his job, they may never see home again. After she finally agrees to listen to him, he wonders just what she has up her sleeve. He’ll be lucky if he gets them off the island the rate things are going for him. It’s not like he is getting paid for the job, he is only doing it for a friend, and Sarah is certainly not making the task easy.
Clint and Sarah match wits the minute they set eyes on each other. All she wants is to get out of there and back home. In no time she and Clint are in the race of their lives with Raul and the others right behind. He has to keep his word to bring Sarah safely home while the two not only fight the men chasing them but their strong attraction for each other. With her toxic tongue, it’s hard to believe the curvy sexy female could set off such a charge below his belt especially when she lets that brassy tongue of hers soar, but she fuels a fire in him that he is having a hard time controlling. After they find a waterfall that brings the two together in a heated passion, she offsets a blaze in him that sizzles. And this time the danger falls between the two of them.
Against the Odds is a high thriller action pack read. The characters of Sarah with her sass and Clint with his Rambo mercenary style, lend a fantastic suspenseful story that unfolds magnificently from the beginning to the end. The banter between the two is exhilarating, keeping the reader thoroughly mesmerized. Sarah has spunk and she’s not afraid to exhibit any of her temper. The story has just the right elements that blend everything that excites. It was stimulating watching the two work together in this tight knit situation.
