Author: Annice Dare

Published in 2006 by HeatWave Romance
Genre: Contemporary Romance
ISBN: N/A

Enos Larimore heads back to the isolated part of the woods that he has named Lonesome. There he spots the cabin but in a distance he also sees a woman washing clothes. He never expected anyone to be staying in the place that he had given the name of Lonesome. He had planned to one day return and make it his home. Now all his plans seem ruined. The woman appears very young and by the presentation of the clothes she washes, they are so thin, he is certain she is dirt poor. She doesn’t seem to be as one of the whores that entice the men for money but one never knows. Yet the more he gazes her way, he is convinced that she is no whore but a woman that is in need of help.

Enos decides to make acquaintance with the young woman. From what he witnessed of her, she is most pretty. He has some coffee beans that he is willing to share with her. All he has to do is befriend her and search out her reasons for being in the cabin he long has desired. Once inside the small cabin, Enos discovers there is much more to Sula. Even though she confesses to a family, he has seen the graves. In the short time they speak, his desire for her grows and now he wishes to make her his in every sense of the word. Can he convince her that he is a man of integrity?

Sula Mae Smith is busy with the laundry when she happens to notice the stranger nearby. After she finishes with the last piece, she enters the cabin and begins to close the shutters and barricade herself before anyone can intrude upon her privacy. She cannot afford for anyone to steal her cow or any small item that she has left for survival. Only her Pa is left but since his trip to the camp for supplies, it has been a long time and he has not returned. She is certain that death has befallen him as well. When the stranger insists he is not there to harm her and offers her some coffee, she feels she can trust him. At least his appearance seems rather nice.

Sula Mae graciously opens her door to Enos, grateful even for a cup of coffee. She tries to explain that she has a family then feels sorry for the lies that she expels. When everything is out in the open, she begins to slowly open up to him and tell him the real truth. They are so close to each other and their hearts seem to beat for each other that she gives herself to him. She has never seen a man without clothes, has never been with a man, and Enos is the one she would like to be with. Perhaps if she gives herself to him, he will either stay with her or take her with him when he leaves. One can only hope. What she gets is more precious than any gold.

A Cabin on Lonesome Creek is a read that is most powerful. It is a journey of more than a young man looking for a cabin that he has longed for in the woods. The story is about two young people that have no one and with times at their worst they discover not only each other but also love. Sula Mae and Enos make a discovery that is truly heart sending. They both set a claim and the ending results are most gratifying. Annice Dare tells a remarkable story of first love, an awakening between two lost souls that were practically created for each other. This was a fascinating read. One that had me in the center of the characters and knocking on the door of the cabin as my heart cheered for a greater promise of tomorrow for the both of them. A Cabin on Lonesome Creek was a read that was beautifully detailed. Visit Heat Wave Romance and discover the story of Enos and Sula. You will be glad you did.

Sincerely good reading,

Linda
