Interview with Author Stormy Glenn:

Hi Stormy. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...

- Please tell us about your latest book.

My latest book is Mari’s Men. It is due for release on Monday, February 9th. It is the first book in my Lover’s of Alpha Squad series.
[Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M] Twins Cole and Bear Daniels dream of a woman they can share between them. When they rescue Mari from a group of mobsters, they know that she is the one for them. But can they convince Mari that two is better than one? Stormy at Siren Publishing

- What can we expect from you in the future?

I have lots of plans for the future but nothing written in stone. I want to finish a few more books for all of my series, Tri Omega Mates, Wolf Creek Pack, and Lover’s of Alpha Squad. I’m also working on another series called Warriors of Akasha. Besides those, I have a few single titles in the works, including a sequel to The Katzman’s Mate and Cowboy Legacy.

- How may readers contact you?

Stormyglenn@hotmail.com

- Do you have a favorite comment or question from a reader?

I purchased The Katzman’s Mate right after breakfast and thought I would read a few chapters before work. Well I am going in late!

- Why did you decide to write romance novels?

I love romance. I believe in love at first sight, true love, and happy ever afters. Everyone should fall in love. That’s why I write romance novels. To share that with people.

- Generally, how long does it take you to write a book?

A few weeks, depending on real life stuff. I usually average 5,000 words a day or so.

- Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?

I go with the flow. Saturday is my big day for writing. I make my iced vanilla mocha, lock myself in my bedroom, turn on the sci-fi channel, and write all day long…or at least until the kids start clawing at the door and demanding food.

- What about your family, do they know not to bother you when you are writing - or are there constant interruptions?

Um…I have six teenagers…private time is not an option. They are pretty good about not bothering me on Saturdays though. That’s my big writing day. Other than that, they come and go all of the time. I also tend to do a lot of writing at night after they’ve gone to bed. Of course, by then my husband is home and he’s bothering me but what can you do? At least he’s cute!

- What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries?

Read and watch really bad B-rated monster movies.

- Where do your ideas come from?

Everywhere. Songs, words, things I see on TV, conversations. I once got an idea for a story while making dinner. It just hit me and it was all I could do not to leave the kitchen and run to my laptop.

- Do you feel humor is important in women's fiction and why?

Yes, because we need to laugh about life. I find that I enjoy a story so much more if I laugh AND cry while reading it.

- What does your husband think of your writing?

My husband has been very supportive of my writing. Not because I’m writing but because it’s my dream job. He isn’t a reader but he knows everyone of my books by name, some of my characters, and what I have coming up. He’s always willing to listen when I have a glitch or help with a story plot.

- Do you ever ask him/her for advice?

All of the time. He’s my best friend. Who else would I ask?

- Who are some of your other favorite authors to read?

Amanda Young, Carol Lynne, Claire Thompson, J.L Langley, Christine Feehan…and many more. It’s more the story that grabs me than one particular author.

- Where do you see yourself in five years?

If I’m really lucky, I’ll still be writing.

- How long have you been writing - have you always wanted to be a writer?

I’ve been writing for years, longer than I can remember. I’ve been trying it seriously for about a year now.

- How many books have you written, how many have been published?

There’s a loaded question. I’ve had four books published. I have another 11 books coming out soon. Then there’s the one’s I’m presently working on. That number is around seventeen at this time, all in various stages of completion. I also have another ten or so in the idea stage, waiting to be written.

- After you've written your book and it's been published, do you ever buy it and/or read it?

Yes…I like the stories I write. I think I write them to read myself, or what I like to read versus trying to fit them into what others like to read. I’m just lucky that others like to read the same things I do.

- What book for you has been the easiest to write?

Sweet Treats was definitely the easiest. I wrote it over one weekend.
The hardest? A Promise Kept has been the hardest book I’ve written so far. I write a lot of paranormal werewolf books. A Promise Kept was my first foray into contemporary suspense. Getting the creepy stalker guy just right without letting him take over the romance between Mason and Jack was really hard.
The most fun? Just A Taste Of Me. One of my main characters, Keeley, for one, has a very smart mouth. Two, he loves colors…red, pink, purple, blue…any color nail polish he can get his hands on. Three…he has this really bad habit of hitting people over the head with cookie sheets. THAT was fun to write.

- Which comes first, the story, the characters or the setting?

Usually the character comes first. Then I begin the ‘what if” stage…what if character one did this or said this…it kind of explodes from there.

- What are the elements of a great romance for you?

I see romance stories in two parts. There is the “story” part, then there is the “romance part” The story part is the creepy stalker dude, the outside interference, etc. Then there is the romance. A great romance starts with a meeting, a look, a scent on the wind. Then you get into the ‘get to know you” stage. This is where the characters are falling in love. There’s a climax or high in the romance, then things slowly, and sometimes quickly, begin to calm down. Hopefully, somewhere after that, there is a happy ending.

- Are you in control of your characters or do they control you?

This one is easy…my characters are in complete control. Until I actually type the sentence out, most times, I have no idea what I’m going to write until I’m typing it.

- What question would you love to answer that I didn't ask?

-Why do I write in the Erotic Paranormal, Werewolf, Futuristic, Contemporary, Gay, Ménage a Trois Romances?

I write pretty much anything and everything. You should see the mess that is in my head. I have an entire file on my computer that is nothing but ideas. I don’t think, as a writer, we should be tied down to one genre. I think it makes a better story to just write it, then figure out where it fits. As for why I wrote Secret Desires as an Erotic Paranormal, Werewolves, M/M/M, Male Ménage a Trois Romance? I didn’t know that’s what it would be when I started it. I just wondered what would happen if you took a cute neurotic guy from the city and put him in ranch country with two sexy guys…and what if they were werewolves? Oh wait, what if he was one too, but he had to have two mates? Oh, and… you get the idea. It just kind of happened. I don’t even think I knew that they were going to be werewolves until the third chapter, then I had to go back do a bunch of rewriting to catch up. That seems to happen a lot when I’m writing.

Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creations from your talented imagination!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
