Interview with Savannah Chase:

Hi Savannah. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...

- Please tell us about your latest book.

My latest release is from Red Rose Publishing. The story is called Pleasure After The Pain. Here is a little bit about the story.

What is your wildest fantasy about getting a tattoo? A night out on the town with a friend ends up bringing Serene to a tattoo parlour. There she discovers a tattoo that takes a hold of her. Something about it calls to her. Body art can bring pleasure to its owner but this tattoo brings more pleasure then Serena ever imagined.

Will Serena’s tattoo give her more pleasure than she could imagine or will it be a fleeting moment of pleasure after the pain?

- What can we expect from you in the future?

My next release is my first sweet romance story. It is called He’s On The Menu and it is featured in Freya’s Bower One Touch, One Glance, A Sweet Romance Anthology.

- How do we find out about you and your books?

To find out more about me and my work just head on over to my official web site, or stop by my official yahoo group.

- How may readers contact you?

Readers can contact me via the official site or at savannah_chase_author@yahoo.com

- Do your fans' comments and letters influence you in any way?

I won’t say that they always do but sometime yes. When I first wrote my book Bid For Love it was suppose to be a stand alone. After it came out readers kept asking if there will be another book for any of the other characters and that inspired to write two more sequels. The next book after Bid For Love is called Bid For The Game.

- Do you have a favorite comment or question from a reader?

I love hearing from readers. It makes my heart jump with joy when someone writes me a note telling me they love my work and they can’t wait to read my next release. It is always a pleasure to hear from them.

- When did you first think about writing and what prompted you to submit your first ms?

I have been writing for a very long time. Ever since I could remember I wrote stories that took place in haunted houses or castles. I also wrote music so this is a passion of mine. When I first started I didn’t know anything about publishing or where to start. I didn’t even know if the stuff I wrote could be published and then I read a book by one of my favorite authors and that gave me push. I started to research publishing and how to go about getting out there.

- Generally, how long does it take you to write a book?

It depends on the length of the book. I have one novel that I have been working on for two years now. It can range anywhere from 2 weeks to months and with that one book over a year.

- Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?

I do my best work at night time so that is when I try to write. That doesn’t mean that I don’t write during the day but my best time is at night. I try to write at least 1000 words a day and if I can’t do that I will do something else like research or make notes for other books.

- What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries?

I love to read. I’m a bookaholic. I also love listening to music. I find it relaxing and it also gets the creative juices flowing.

- What truly motivates you in general? In your writing?

I get motivated by life and the dreams that I have. It pushes me harder to work to get to where I want to be. When it comes to writing it’s my love to tell a story and to bring it to life as a book. I can’t wait to share it with the world. I get excited and that is also a huge motivation for me as well.

- Where do your ideas come from?

I get inspired by everything. Simple things like a street sign to a dream will get a story going. My imagination runs wild and I pretty much have a new idea daily or every other day.

- Do you have a favorite author? Favorite book?

My favorite author is Sherrilyn Kenyon. I’m such a huge fan of her Dark Hunter books. She has created a world that you not only want to read about but wouldn’t mind being in. You can’t help but fall in love with her books.

- Are you a member of any author groups - RWA, critique groups, etc.?

Yes I am a part of the Romance Writers of America, Toronto Romance Writers, and Erotic Authors Association. No critique groups.

- What do you think of critique groups in general?

I think that they are very handy. They can help you see the things that you might not be seeing in your work. As an author you get attached to your work and after you read it over and over you sometimes don’t notice mistakes or things that have to be changed. Critique groups can help writers a lot. You just have to be prepared to get honest feedback.

- Where do you see yourself in five years?

I want to open my own publishing company and still be writing. I would love to have my books in print and just doing what I love.

- After you've written your book and it's been published, do you ever buy it and/or read it?

Yes I always read my books when they are published. There is just something amazing about seeing your work all finished and packaged. It’s an accomplishment to have your work out there after all the hard work that goes into bringing it to life.

- Which comes first, the story, the characters or the setting?

For me it is actually the title of the book. For some odd reason I always have to have a title for the story once I have a story idea. It just gets the creative juices flowing and the story comes to life.

- Have you experienced writer's block---> If so, how did you work through it?

I have had writer’s block before and I hate it. I love to write and when I can’t it feels like something is missing. When I do have writer’s block I try to step away from the story that I am working on and do something else. Make notes or research. Sometimes I just step away from writing all together and will watch a movie or read a book or listen to music. Sometimes all it takes is a break for a bit.

- What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?

The most rewarding the about being a writer is that I bring to life stories for the world to read. I get to do what I love and it has given me the opportunity to do a lot of things I probably would have not been able to do. I have also been blessed to meet so many amazing authors who's books I love to read. Meeting readers is one of the best rewards for an author as well.

- If you weren't writing, what would you be doing?

I would still be in the book business. I think I would be a literary agent. As long as I’m surrounded by books I’m happy.

- Are there any words of encouragement for unpublished writers?

I want to tell you to never give up. Things can get bumpy but just push forward and keep reaching for your dreams. Never let anyone stop you from doing what you love.

Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
