Interview with Author Rhonda Print:
Hi Rhonda. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...
- Please tell us about your latest book.
Nightwalker, A Leah Wolfe SINS Novel is a paranormal romance based in modern day desert.
Leah Wolfe has retired from serious police work in favor of seeking a normal life. Her unique, yet not fully discovered supernatural abilities allow her to speak to the souls of the dead, providing vital information in the search for their killers. Her abilities have also cost her almost everyone she has ever loved including her mother, who abandoned her to fend for herself on the streets, and, most recently, her ex-fiancé Joaquín Wildhorse, Chief Detective of the Native American Reservation Police Department. But when Joaquín’s new lover is found brutally murdered on the reservation, he turns to Leah for help. The hunt for a vicious killer leads Leah to sexy Ian Nightwalker and Leah is unable to walk away from the case that may cost her her most guarded possession of all.
Her heart.
- What can we expect from you in the future?
I am finishing the second book in the the Leah Wolfe SINS Novel series, however, it is not yet titled.
- How do we find out about you and your books?
I Love to hear from readers and try to respond to each comment. My blog site is www.rhondaprint.blogspot.com and my web page is www.RhondaLPrint.com
- Do you allow readers to contact you? If so, how do they reach you?
Readers can leave a comment through my blog or webpage.
- When did you first think about writing and what prompted you to submit your first ms?
I wrote Nightwalker just to see if I could. I can’t describe the feeling of satisfaction when I wrote that last line. After that, I set my goal to see if I could get published. Liquid Silver Books (www.liquidsilverbooks.com) bought Nightwalker and it was on to editing and publishing.
- Do you feel humour is important in women's fiction and why?
Comedy adds so much and it’s a great tension breaker during the really intense scenes.
- What kind of research do you do?
I try to inflect a bit of truth in the paranormal world. I was surprised how much modern myths are affected by reality. I found the research fascinating and it only fueled my desire to keep writing!
- What does your husband think of your writing?
My husband has been extremely supportive. He’s been my sounding board, critique partner and editor.
- Do you ever ask him/her for advice?
All the time! I won’t reveal any plot secrets to him until he has read the book because I want his honest opinion. I do, however, use him mercilessly as my sounding board. LOL
- Are you in control of your characters or do they control you?
This is an easy one. The characters are definitely in control. On more than one occasion I’ve had a character do something unexpected that left me pacing the floor trying to figure out where to go from there. Leah, Joaquin and Ian are just as bossy in my head as they are in Nightwalker.
- Have you experienced writer's block---> If so, how did you work through it?
Ugh! Yes! I tend to clean and do laundry when that happens, which is good because I don’t get as much housework done now as I used to. I also take a walk or just do something else then BAM! Something hits me and I’m right back on track.
- What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?
The feeling of accomplishment. I write because I have to! All of these ideas running around my brain need a place to go! LOL
Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!
Yours in good reading,
Rose!
