- What can we expect from you in the future?

I’m always writing and publishing my stories. My next release will be May 30th from Vintage Publishing. My historical western is called, Queen Of Hearts.

Can a woman battle through secrets to win the love of the man who just might take away her home?
Dr. Cecilia Ashby is forced to disguise herself as a man in order to practice medicine in a small southern town after the Civil War. When she stumbles across an injured gambler in an alley one night, will her ruse get the better of them both? Especially when she finds herself attracted to him.

Gambler, James Lawrence has played his last hand and finally has enough cash to buy back his family plantation the carpetbaggers had taken from him…until he’s blindsided, robbed and left for dead. After an interesting stay with the town doctor, he finds his stolen earnings in the hands of the young thief and his sister, Cecilia Ashby, who now reside in his plantation.

James and Cecilia both want the plantation, but do they want a long lasting love even more? Battling deceit, betrayal, and disguises, the two must confront their biggest challenge yet – themselves.

Currently, I’m trying to get my romantic suspense contracted, Danger In Her Arms. Once that is completed, I’ll be searching for a home for my very steamy contemporary, Breaking All The Rules.

- Why did you decide to write romance novels?

I started reading romance during my first year of marriage. I was hooked, and I couldn’t get enough. When my dreams started coming to me like a story, that’s when I decided to give it a try. I enjoy entering another world and making people do what I want! ~hahaha~ But I love the happily ever after. It sure helps when I’m trying to deal with the real world.

- What motivated you to start writing in this genre?

My dreams wouldn’t leave me alone…but that’s not what really made me pick up the pencil and notebook. I love watching romantic movies, too. One day I watched a new movie. It was very romantic, it made me fall in love with the characters, but at the end of the movie, the hero and heroine did not end up together. He married someone else. AUGH! I was so upset it stayed with me through the night. That night I had one of my movie-style dreams. The next morning, I decided to give it a try. It took me less than three weeks to write the first story. From that point on, I haven’t been able to stop creating stories. It’s rather fun!

- What are your main concerns as a writer?

I always worry that I’m going to disappoint my fans. I don’t want to. No author wants to. And it’s hard to realize that not everyone is going to like everything. But I still try to write a great story to make everyone happy.

- How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing?

None! Well…when I write about a feisty, stubborn heroine, I know from experience where she’s coming from, because I’m like this, too. On the other hand, I like to think I’m humorous, and in most of my stories, you can see my humor. *grins*

- Do you feel humour is important in women's fiction and why?

I do! In my own life, I come across humorous situations all the time. So do most of the characters in my books. If I can’t laugh at myself (or others) then my life is way too boring! Can’t have that.

- What are your thoughts on love scenes in romance novels, do you find them difficult to write?

Oh no! I LOVE writing sexual tension. I enjoy the build up between hero and heroine until the final sex scene. At one time I thought about writing a religious / inspirational sweet romance, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. My characters have to be hot for each other. heehee

- What does your husband/wife/partner think of your writing?

My husband has never liked me writing. Never. But once the royalty checks started coming in, then he relaxed a little. But I try to pay more attention to him so he doesn’t think I’m ignoring him all the time. When I first started writing, it worried him because he thought I was writing about our sex life. HAHA! Don’t flatter yourself, big guy! heehee

Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
