Interview with Author Margaret Blake:

Hi Margaret. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...

- What can we expect from you in the future?

I have two new books out presently and another to be published at the end of October.
The first of these is His Other Wife, a passionate contemporary romance, and then we have a return to my roots with The Substitute Bride which is a romantic historical suspense. My next hardback book is A Poisoned Legacy, a contemporary romantic suspense set in Florida. December sees a new contemporary romance Spanish Lies. Have I been busy? Well yes, I guess I have!

- How do we find out about you and your books?

A good stopping off place is my website at www.margaretblake.co.uk. Also I am at my space www.myspace/authormargaret. Alternatively visit www.halebooks.com for my hardback romantic suspense novels, and www.whiskeycreekpress.com for contemporary and historical romance.

- How may readers contact you?

Readers can contact me through my website, or if they are at myspace they can contact me there.

- Why did you decide to write romance novels?

I started out writing historical romance. These research wise took quite a time to write so in-between I started writing contemporary romance novels. I really enjoyed these as they let me go to exciting places and of course to live in luxurious surroundings. Putting it simply they took me right out of myself – I hope they do the same for my readers.

- How many books have you written and how many have you had published?

I could not count how many novels I have written but those that have been published number twenty two.

- What book for you has been the easiest to write? The hardest? The most fun?

The easiest book for me has to be A Poisoned Legacy which is out at the end of this month. Something happened to me, and I just could not stop writing this book, to say it wrote itself seems like rubbish, but honest that is true. I think my love for Florida helped.

The hardest was my first ever book A Sprig of Broom, an historical romance, it took a long time and a lot of research. The most fun? Well, to be quite honest, no matter how hard the work all my books are fun to write. If I could not write I would not think I was having any fun at all, and that is the truth.

- Have you ever experienced writer’s block…if so how did you work through it?

I had a couple of years of writer’s block, I thought I would never write again and then I met up with another writer called Loren Teague, in New Zealand, and Loren encouraged and inspired me to start writing again. I do intermittently suffer from writer’s block, but only for a day or so, and I guess everyone has their time when the muse is AWOL.

- If you weren’t writing what would you be doing?

I wonder if this means job wise...

I guess I would be lecturing or something, but if I am not writing and have time to spare, then I am out in the hills walking with my friends. That is what I love to do.

- What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries?

I love to travel – especially to visit Florida where my son and his family live. I also like to walk in the hills or just go take a walk to the shore near my home. I find the lovely views and the sound of the sea are very relaxing.

Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
