Interview with Jeanne Barrack:
Hi Jeanne. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...
- Please tell us about your latest book.
My latest book is titled No One Else on Earth. It's my first contemporary paranormal romance and I'm really excited about it. Here's the blurb:
Julie Turner returns to the quiet town of Greenrock, PA to open a male stripping club with her three best friends and as part of the opening, they're running a contest to find the best strippers. Julie's not expecting to find a man for herself. Her Rubenesque figure isn't what men usually go for.
The club is also being used as the base of operations by two very different males. Mike Winstead, is a Tracer, a hunter from another world chasing after an alien sexual predator who's come to Greenrock. And Tzahyad, the predator, a shape shifting, vampire-like alien who drains his victims of their sexual energy.
Two men want Julie - one for love, one for seduction; one for life and one for death. Choosing the right man has never been quite so crucial.
- What can we expect from you in the future?
I'm working on another paranormal romance with a contemporary setting that flashes back to the days of Lucrezia Borgia.
- How do we find out about you and your books?
Visit my website at www.jeannebarrack.com
- How may readers contact you?
At silverfire@jeannebarrack.com
- When did you first think about writing and what prompted you to submit your first ms?
My mother passed away very suddenly and I was downsized from my job. I had a lot of time on my hands. Then, one night I had a dream and over the course of several days I dreamt "Silver Fire", the first book in my trilogy, from beginning to end. I wrote the first draft in long-hand, then transferred it to my PC. After several years polishing it and sending it off to contests, my husband insisted firmly that I send it off to apublisher. Then fate stepped in when a long-lost friend suggested that I submit it to a new epublisher. They accepted it within a month!
- What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries?
Read! Sing. (I sing in over ten languages and everything from folk music to opera). Cook foreign food...
- Where do your ideas come from?
Everywhere. Especially from music. My last two books got their inspiration from an old Gaelic folk song ("A Song of the Sidhe") and Country Western music ("No One Else on Earth")
- What are your thoughts on love scenes in romance novels, do you find them difficult to write?
I love love scenes! My writing is erotic and I enjoy the freedom of exploring the sensual side of my personality. Although, to be honest, in real life, I'm a very vanilla kind of gal!
- What kind of research do you do?
Lots! Especially the story I'm working on right now. Its inspiration is based on Lucrezia Borgia.
- Please tell us about yourself (family, hobbies, education, etc.)
I'm a native New Yorker, born and bred in Brooklyn. Married to my HS sweetheart for over thirty years. Masters in Music Therapy. Love to sing, cook and read. Have no kids, but have bred and own Tibetan Terriers for over thirty years.
- Fill in the blank favorites -
Dessert - Cannolli
City - Toronto

Hero - Alpha with strong beta attributes
Heroine - Alpha with strong beta attributes
Both heros and heroines should have a strong sense of humor
- How long have you been writing - have you always wanted to be a writer?
I've always loved writing, mostly poetry. Writing is tied up with my love of music and my musical background.
- How many books have you written, how many have been published?
I've completed five mss and all of them have been published by Loose Id.
- What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?
Being able to share my worlds with others. Knowing that people have received pleasure from my words is a tremendous high.
- Are there any words of encouragement for unpublished writers?
Write, write and keep on writing. Believe in yourself. I know they sound like platitudes, but they're the truest words around.
Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!
Yours in good reading,
Rose!
