Book Title: A Christmas to Remember
- Please tell us about your latest book.
A Christmas to Remember is the tale of childhood sweethearts, Jacinda Murphy, a successful romance writer and Sebastian Collins, a program designer, who run into each other in the waiting room at a sex therapist office. Their friendship cooled ten years ago, and their families are trying to figure out why. Jacinda is obsessed with buying erotic toys over the Internet and Sebastian is worried about the size of his penis. Both are chronic masturbators and have relationship issues. Neither is willing to give up their “vices” or trust anyone with their sexual problems. Their mothers have dreams of Sebastian and Jacinda falling in love and giving them grandchildren, so they go out of their way to get the two of them back together by Christmas.
- What can we expect from you in the future?
I’m currently working on two books, both erotic paranormal romances. I have a couple of book ideas stewing on the back burner.
- How may fans contact you?
Fans can contact through my email at: www.imari_jade@stardustpress.com.
- Why did you decide to write romance novels?
I have always liked to read romance novels, and one day I told myself if I can read them then I can write them.
- Generally, how long does it take you to write a book?
I wrote A Christmas to Remember in five days. I don’t think I can ever do that again, but you never know. Generally it takes a couple of months for me to do the research and find the time to write it. I like to write it in long hand first and then type it. A Christmas to Remember is the first book I wrote while I sat at the computer. The words just poured into my head.
- Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?
I just go with the flow.
- What about your family, do they know not to bother you when you are writing – or are there constant interruptions?
There are constant interruptions. My family life is very hectic and full of drama. I have three grown sons, their girlfriends, my mother and the dog all vying for my attention at the same time. It was easier when they were young because they had video games to occupy their times. Usually I do most of my writing on the bus, or during break or lunch at work. I take a tablet and pens everywhere I go.
- What do you do to relax or recharge your batteries?
I watch television or I read a novel.
- Where do your ideas come from?
They come from everywhere. I might see an interesting article on the Internet or in the newspaper. Or, I could just be watching television or overhearing a conversation. Most of the time they just pop into my head.
- Do you feel humor is important in women’s fiction and why?
Yes, because life is not all serious. I like reading humorous fiction. I like to read about the hero or heroine doing dumb things. That’s what makes them real.
- What are your thoughts on love scenes in romance novels, do you find them difficult to write?
I like love scenes in romance novels. I’m a little disappointed if I buy a book and there isn’t sex in it. I do find them difficult to write, because every thing has been done to death. It’s not easy trying to make it fresh every time.
- Would you like to write a different genre than you do now, or sub-genre?
Yes. I’ve been dabbling with horror lately. I’ve been working on a series for a couple of years now.
Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!
Yours in good reading,
Rose!
