Interview with Author Glynnis Ivy:

Hi Glynnis. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...

- Please tell us about your latest book.

TEACHING TYLER is a sweet and sophisticated May-December romance between a widowed concert pianist instructor and her late-blossoming 20-something maverick of a student.

- What can we expect from you in the future?

My next book, THE LAST WATCH, is a two-part paranormal romantic suspense/thriller about the lone witness to a double homicide and the vampire cop charged with her protection.

- How do we find out about you and your books?

I’m just in the process of getting my website done, but until that time, readers can go to:
My publisher: Ellora's Cave
Facebook: Glynnis Ivy
My publicist: Morgan Promotions

- Do you allow readers to contact you? If so, how do they reach you?

Oh for sure! They can write me directly at glynnisivy@live.ca or via my publicist at morganpromotions@gmail.com

- What is your writing routine once you start a book?

I always jump to the end first as I know how it want it to wrap up. Then I backtrack to the beginning, pick away randomly at various scenes and chapters, flow them together then finish with the title. Ass backwards if you will!

- What kind of research do you do?

Research for love scenes? Those are the most fun! LOL Seriously though, I am a stickler for knowing about an area, topic or character’s background before I even put pen to page.

- Would you like to write a different genre than you do now, or sub-genre?

As mentioned, my next book, THE LAST WATCH, is a bit of a dog’s breakfast in that it’s a paranormal romantic suspense/thriller and therein a departure from contemporary erotica.

- Fill in the blank favorites -

Ooh – fun. Here we go!
Dessert - Tiramisu
City - San Antonio
Season - Fall
Type of hero - Passionate but sensitive
Type of heroine - Strong and independent but with a soft spot for the hero

- What do you think of critique groups in general?

Writing is fairly isolating so if you’re the type that thrives on interaction, feedback and support while you’re pumping out the pages, then I think critique groups are great. Just so long as you’re thick skinned.

- Do you think critique groups are a necessity to becoming a good writer?

Not at all. I think it’s more important to be socially aware of the times and what’s going on then what any particular group – critique or otherwise – thinks about your work.

- Where do you see yourself in five years?

On the NY Bestsellers List and the most recent recipient of the Pulitzer Prize!

Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
