Interview with Author Danielle Gavan:

Hi Danielle. Thank you for doing this interview. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview and Author Grilling session. *bg* We are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so lets get started...

- Please tell us about your latest book.

Possession is Nine Tenths – Ardeur is about a young woman who is possessed by a chaos demon for most of her life. Once freed from the demon, she trades in one form of possession for another unless she can break the bond with the Angel of Death. Freedom and love come to her in the form of a six foot four Werewolf with dimples and flashing hazel eyes.

- How do we find out about you and your books?

I have information about all of my books, published and upcoming, on my website http://daniellegavan.com under the Books tab.

- How may readers contact you?

I’m always happy to hear from readers via email danielle.gavan@gmail.com, on Twitter (@DanielleGavan), Facebook and my blog

- Why did you decide to write romance novels?

Romance novels have been a part of my life since I was a pre-teen. The first book I can recall reading was VC Andrews’ Heaven. It was given to me for my ninth birthday and I read it cover to cover in four hours. By the time I was fourteen I graduated to Virginia Henley’s The Pirate and the Pagan, and never looked back.

- Generally, how long does it take you to write a book?

Given the right conditions, I can write a book in five months. Unfortunately, life tends to get in the way when you have two kids, a hubby and a 9-5. I write mostly at night after the kids have gone to bed or on weekends so when I do get to sit down at the computer the time is precious.

- Where do your ideas come from?

Some ideas spark from random things I’ve seen during the day in my everyday wanderings, on television or maybe even heard on the radio. Other things come from a role play board that I play on. Ardeur and Brody come from the latter. She was a spunky blonde Canadian Necromancer. She had a chip on her petite shoulders and attitude for miles. The more her personality emerged, the more I knew her story had to be told. Brody’s original name was Stone and he was a jaded Werewolf from Atlanta on the run from a past he wanted desperately to forget. He was the creation of a wonderful woman, Rhonda Stone, who graciously allowed me to have him when I decided to write their story. The man in the story isn’t an exact replica of Stone, but he’s pretty darn close.

- What kind of research do you do?

My favorite research tool is Wikipedia. There is so much information to be found there, whether it’s accurate or not is debatable in some instances. When it comes to writing paranormal though, most of the information out there is of a questionable nature to begin with so I pick and choose what to keep and what to ignore.

Other sources for research material come from Google, movies and library books.

- Who, if anyone, has influenced your writing?

Hmmm. That’s a tough one. My writing has been influenced by so many wonderful authors it’s hard to pin just one down. The ones I keep going back to are Diana Gabaldon, Laurell K. Hamilton, JR Ward and Kelley Armstrong.

Thank you very much for taking the time with us and answering our questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to the next delightful creation from your talented imagination!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
