How do we find out about you and your books?
You can always find the most up to date information about me and my books on my website, www.amandajgreene.com.
- Do you allow readers to contact you? If so, how do they reach you?
Yes, I allow readers to contact me. On my site I have a contact page that lists my e-mail address and the social networks where I can be found: Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads.
- Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?
I mainly just go with the flow. I’m a University student, I work part time, and I am married. I don’t have much extra to make a plan for writing. Basically, I write whenever I can. If I have a great idea, I will jot it down on a piece of paper or use my phone. It’s difficult to place creativity on a time schedule, though I do try to work on my books every day, even if it’s just for an hour.
- Please tell us about your latest book.
Caressed by Moonlight is my debut novel and the first book in my Rulers of Darkness series. This novel is a mixture of historical and paranormal romance, taking place in 1814.
Orphaned, penniless, and forced to sell everything she owns to pay off her father’s debt, Victoria Kingston stands to lose her younger sister if she does not find a husband within a month.
Dorian Vlakhos comes to London with the hope of saving his clan from the bloodthirsty witches and one vampire that would steal his throne.
One kiss will bring them together and send them into a storm of love, passion, betrayal, and death.I am currently working on the second book of the series. Caressed by Night’s release date to be announced.
- Among your own books, have you a favorite? A favorite hero or heroine?
There will be five books in the Rulers of Darkness series. Gabriel, a character that is introduced in Caressed by Moonlight, and who will have a greater role in Caressed by Night, is my favorite character of this series. His book should be the last in the series, though I am currently entertaining the idea of sixth novel.
My favorite heroine? I think that would be Sonya. She was also introduced in Caressed by Moonlight and she will have her own book. Sonya is an extremely strong woman and is the leader of her own vampire clan.
- Which comes first, the story, the characters or the setting?
The characters come first. I’m not sure where my ideas come from. Once I get a firm understand of my character’s past, what motivates them, what they look like, etc., their story begins to form.
- Are you in control of your characters or do they control you?
I do make a rough outline of how I feel the story should unfold, but I leave room for my characters. When I start writing I learn even more about my characters and I get a feel for how they would react in any given situation. Therefore, the plan for the book can change, based on what they would do or how they would react.
- Where do your ideas come from?
Ireally don’t know where the ideas come from. Most times I am in my car, heading to work or school, and they just pop in my head. I have so many ideas for characters and stories that I have to write them down before I get forget. I would love to be able to write full time so I could share all my ideas.
- What can we expect from you in the future?
I am working on the Rulers of Darkness series and I currently have 3 other series in planned and in the works. I hope that you can expect a lot from me in the future. I enjoy sharing my creativity with others.
- Can you tell us a little about your upcoming books?
Caressed by Night is the second book of the Rulers of Darkness series and, with luck, it will be released by the end of the year.
I am also currently working on a young adult novel, which will be published under Amanda Varian.
