Welcome to our Writing Prompt Contest.
This contest is to write a romance story using the words above
following the rules below. The contest will be judged by all members
and non-members through a vote, the most votes wins. The winner will
have their story posted on our website as well as win a copy of Unearthed
by CJ Barry.
Rules for the RaH monthly contest:
1. Anyone can enter... but only one can win! Yes, members and non-members
alike can enter and vote!
2. The entries must be between 3000 and 5000 words. If your entry is more
or less than the min/max it will be sent back to you to be edited.
3. This is a romance contest, and as such, your entry must have a foreplay/sex
scene. ANY overly obscene or vulgar content will get you disqualified.
4. Your entry needs to be edited. This means spelling and grammar checking.
Every word processor program(**EXCEPT for plain text and rich text
editors ie: WordPad and Notepad ** see bottom if you use these) has this
option, use it... it is a wonderful tool. If you are like me and don't
understand what the heck the grammatical rules are when they pop up..
feel free to send it to someone you trust. (This does not mean sending
it to twenty five different people, so that everyone will know it is you
who wrote the entry. After all this contest is ANONYMOUS) Oh yeah.. and
please, please do not send your "to be edited entries" to the staff. .
We are very busy and can’t take the time to edit everyone’s entry.
5. This contest is anonymous. No one aside from the staff (and possibly
your editor) should know it is you. If the voters are able to guess your
writing style... like umm some of them are... (Chessie, Mindarcy... not
funny!! lmao) please don't tell them "yes" when they inevitably pop the
question "you are entry 2 right?" It isn't fair to the other contestants.
Remember... Top Secret.. Hush Hush!!
6. We have shortened the time you can submit. Due to the fact that some
months have 31 days, some have 30 days and February screws everyone up.
The contest will run between the 1st and the 30th of each month.
7. Please use the submission form below to submit your entry. If you post
it yourself you will be disqualified.
The aforementioned note about WordPad and NotePad, these two programs
do not sponser spell-check or grammar-check. These are plain text and
rich text editors. If these are the only word processing programs available
to you and you need to check your word count, and spelling/grammar...
