An Interview with Cover Model Julian Fantechi:

Hi Julian. I would like to welcome you to the Romance at Heart Interview. I think most folks know the basics, you model for romance magazine and novel covers as well as promos, so why don't we attack this from another point of view. *bg* I know my readers truly are interested to find out as much about you as we possibly can, so let's get started...

-RaH: Tell us about your break into the world of modeling. Where were you? How did you feel? Were you nervous?

Julian: First of all thank you for having me. I was in college in NY when I was approached by an agency. At first I thought it was a scam and didn’t pay it any mind. My friend told me they were huge and I should meet with them. I did and the next week I was shooting for Men's Health magazine.

-RaH: Was modeling a goal? If not, when did you realize that you would like to be a model?

Julian: It was never a goal but I was always into fitness, so  it was always a motivator to stay in shape, when I knew I shoot coming up. It motivated me.

-RaH: Did you always have an interest in developing a fabulous body, or did you have a previous or current career for which you had to be in great shape?

Julian: I played sports in school and was a water nut, swimming, surfing so that definitely helped.

-RaH: What was your biggest surprise about the life of a cover model/model? (Good or Bad)

Julian: I never really thought anybody cared about the model on the cover but I learned was that he readers do. And not just about Fabio. The support and love I got has been amazing. I love the readers and authors who have inspired and treated me so well.

-RaH: Do you like/enjoy your work?

Julian: I work with special needs children as a therapist and I absolutely love it. It's the best job in the world bringing about the best in these exceptional young people.

-RaH: What do you like best/least about being a successful model?

Julian: Definitely the people I get to meet. I have met so many wonderful people in the industry.

-RaH: What sort of hours does a cover model/model normally work? What sort of locations?

Julian: Well there is a lot of traveling. Actual shoots can last from all day to a couple of hours. It all depends.

-RaH: Do you work outside of modeling? If so...How do your two careers fit? Do your coworkers and friends know you are a cover model?

Julian: I try to keep the two worlds separate. I don't want to appear stuck up or vain so I don't discuss the modeling with co workers.

-RaH: Does your modeling affect how your friends/colleagues/clients look at you? If not, what did you say when you quit, and how did your former colleagues react?

Julian: My friends know me as silly Julian. No one treats me any differently because I don’t act any differently.

-RaH: What do your friends and family think about your choice in pursuing a modeling career?

Julian: They support and encourage me all the time.

-RaH: What is your schedule like as a result? Do you have enough time for friends and family?

Julian: I always make time for those I love.

-RaH: I've heard that you are a person of many talents and interests. Can you tell me what some of your other interests are?

Julian: Sure. Well I love the ocean. I live by the beach in San Diego so I surf, bodyboard, swim and kayak. I also act and love the whole art, it’s very cathartic. I also play the drums.

-RaH: Being popular and famous can have its rewards and drawbacks, what to you like best about the attention? The least?

Julian: I'm not that famous, lol.

-RaH: Where do you call home, and do you mind the traveling you must have to do?

Julian: San Diego is my home!!! Cally baby! I do love traveling. It's a very liberating experience. Hawaii is my favorite place in the world.

-RaH: If you could make one wish for the world, what would it be?

Julian: It would be that everyone would realize what is most important, that is caring for your neighbor.

-RaH: Is there anything else you would like my readers to know about you, or about where they might be able to see you in person in the future?

Julian: Just that I am very humble and appreciate all of their love and support.

Thank you very much for taking the time with me and answering my questions. I really appreciate this interruption to your busy schedule, and I hope my readers will appreciate it as well. Good Luck, and we will be looking forward to your next cover!

Yours in good reading,
Rose!
