Melanie Atkins |
At her day job, Melanie Atkins is a secretary and editor of a monthly newsletter—but at night, she leaves that mundane world behind and enters a world of murder, romance, and mystery. Writing is more than an escape for her—it’s a way of life. She has been writing seriously for seven years, and has completed nine manuscripts. Her romantic suspense novels have finaled in the Daphne du Maurier, Winter Rose, Dixie First Chapter, Duel on the Delta, Laurie, Dixie Kane Memorial, Sweet, Spicy, Spooky and Suspense, and First Kiss contests. In June of 2005, her first book, the award-winning Haunted Memories, was released from Triskelion Publishing. Another award-winning book, Cherished Witness,is scheduled for release in October of 2005, and its sequel, Prime Suspect, is due out in February 2006. The print edition of Haunted Memories will be available in the spring. In addition, she's at work on three new books. Melanie is an active member of RWA and Kiss of Death (KOD), the mystery suspense sub-chapter of RWA. She serves as Vice President and PRO Liaison of her local chapter of RWA, the Magnolia State Romance Writers, and as the PRO Liaison of the KOD online chapter of RWA .
