Lisa Christian |
I have been writing since I could verbalize my imperial commands to anyone capable of changing my diapers, even if those commands were delivered in baby-speak. Okay, so it wasn’t yet writing…but my imagination was alive and very insistent. Later, when I could demand honor and glory from my crayons, pictures became my medium of choice. Then, heaven of heavens, I learned to write! Was the world ready for me? In third grade, I illustrated my first book with drawings and magazine pictures. I still have that hand-written book and smile every time I take it out of its cherished box. In high school, my very dark, very “Goth” stories were published in the school paper (and this was way before the genre even had a name) – >sigh< I’m so glad to have grown out of that phase…or did I? I did eventually grow up, thankfully. I married, had two beautiful daughters, and managed to raise them successfully when it turned out that it wasn’t our destiny to have a man around the house. My writing has never left me. I’ve had a weekly column in a respectable newspaper, and am finally getting around to my first love…stories of romance. Now though, I mix in a little paranormal and/or fantasy, and I use a p.c. instead of crayons.
