Meet:
Jennifer Archer |
At the age of one, I moved with my family from Texas to California and, over the next ten years, moved twenty-two more times within six different states. During this time, I found familiarity in books. In fact, I enjoyed reading stories so much I began writing my own. After winning first place in a fifth grade essay contest, when anyone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, “A writer.” But while attending West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M), I put my writing dream aside while I focused on more “practical” things, like business classes, friends and falling in love. My writing dream finally nudged me again when my children were small, so I took a creative writing class at a local community college. Six years, a couple of children’s book manuscripts, two completed novel manuscripts, two stints as a RWA Golden Heart Finalist and a big fat folder of rejection letters later, I sold my first novel, Body And Soul. I am mother to two grown sons and I reside in Texas with my high school sweetheart and our neurotic Brittany spaniel, Tia. I love to hear from readers through my website www.jenniferarcher.net.
