Helen Highwater |
Helen Highwater was born in London, England, one of four children. From an early age she was a voracious reader - reading bus tickets and the telephone directory when nothing else offered, according to her mother! She attended a respected girls' school in leafy Buckinghamshire before studying at a ladies' college at Oxford University. She then went into Marketing, where she devoted her creative energy to promoting foods and beauty products, whilst spending every spare penny she had on travelling. She has visited thirty countries, including India, Morocco, Zambia and the Lebanon, and speaks fluent French and German as well as some Urdu. In 1996 she married her husband Robert, and they subsequently moved to Germany, where they currently live with their two children. Helen has been writing for fun since she was at primary school: her first published work was a short story in her high school magazine. Her first romance novella, "The Rose of Shiraz", was inspired by a visit to Central Asia.
