Meet:

Eloise Barton

Eloise Barton wrote her first book over 25 years ago—a 125,000 word novel based on the blending of her four and her husband’s five children into one big happy—well, interesting family. The un-publishable manuscript now sits on top of her bookcase.

Eloise soon realized she needed to learn more about the business of writing. She has since sold over 100 stories and articles, including several confession stories. (“With what my children tell me, can I ever write confession stories!”)

After the death of her husband of 30 years, she supported herself by working in the accounting office of the California State Fair. In her spare time, she devoted herself to her many grandchildren.

Eloise has now retired and moved to the beautiful mountains of Northern California with her new husband, their big black Labrador retreiver (a retired service dog) and four demanding cats. When she is not writing, she and her husband enjoy square dancing, fishing, and riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Her first book, Finding Mariah, was published by Hard Shell Word Factory in 2000, and was an EPPIE Finalist in 2001. Her newest book, Heart's Home, was published by Hard Shell Word Factory in 2005.
